Hit or miss I read later in another review and that is spot on. Ours was definitely a miss.
Met by very nice girls, and immediately seated. The waitress, Ashley Twitty (she gave me her whole name), was prompt and did an amazing job keeping up with drinks. She was friendly and knowledgeable.
And that's where the good ended....mostly. She brought rolls but they were solid and not Logans yeast rolls. Not a big deal but weird. The food came next. The kids got burgers (medium well), fries and a side of their new coconut shrimp. I ordered the salmon with shrimp (has small amount of mashed potatoes and a cream spinach sauce). The shrimp were fishy, not bad but not good. They were tough. They were warm. The spinach sauce cold. The salmon overcooked and extremely hot (enough to burn your mouth), and the potatoes were cold. I had two salads (kid #1 ate one) so that was all that was on the plate.
The kids fries were cold. I mean cold. The lovely Ashley brought them a small plate (about half what was on the original plate) of hot fries. The burgers with the cold fries were cold and way overcooked. They had an odd taste. The bacon nearly raw.
The coconut shrimp was awesome and not fishy or cold. The salads made by Ashley were also the bomb!
Then comes the General Manager Brian. Ashley had asked him to come chat with us about the bad food. He looked harassed and aggressive on the approach. I tried to make him understand we hadn't really asked for him just shared the state of the food with Ashley. He listened and offered to remake the kids burgers. He ignored everything about mine. He said they couldn't know if people didn't tell them (feedback) so that was good. But he didn't really apologize for the bad food. He instead explained it was plated as it was cooked. He did remake the burgers which turned out better than the first. He did not comp any of the food. Not a problem but he didn't offer anything as way to make the experience better (dessert or whatever). I understand they aren't obligated to, but we shouldn't pay for bad food either. Ashley was better at diffusing the situation and making it better. Sad but he likely didn't have the help to make the restaurant run in the back but a lot of the servers weren't busy. Crosstraining should be a part of the job so the restaurant ran smooth but again whatever. Overall, my interaction with him wasn't positive and I would not hire him to do customer service. He may be great in other management aspects but speaking with customers...no.
I have never had this problem before at Logans. The restaurant is one of my favorites and comfort food as I was attending a friend's funeral and needed it we found one and gave it a go. It wasn't busy so we were hopeful. Sadly, it was not a great experience. At $80 for lunch with water (yes, price shock even the burgers were crazy expensive and they no longer have a lunch menu), we sadly won't be back or ever at this location.
[Yes the bun came...
Read moreToday we wanted a good steak, and figured Logans to be the logical choice based on their claims to that effect. I'm not a local but I do visit the area now and then, and I hadn't been to Logans in a number of years.
I was a little concerned when we entered, as the noise level was so high that it was difficult to communicate with the host. I was relieved when he led us into a separate dining room, which seemed that it might be quieter. I was soon proven wrong, as families around us with kids were speaking with "outside voices" to be heard over music eminating from speakers in the room. Unable to compete we ate largely without conversation.
Our "onion rings" starter was quite good and offered great promise of things to come. We were no more than a bite or two into our starter, however, when the next course, caesar salads, landed on the table. I mentioned to our server that we had hardly begun our starter, to which she agreed, "yes, these salads came out quick!" and walked off - apparently missing the hint altogether.
As it turned out, it wasn't a problem - we had plenty of time to remain focused on the onion rings because because the salad was inedible. The lettuce was soggy with dressing and the croutons unpleasantly soft.
Even so, we'd only managed to eat about half the onion rings (and no salad) when our mains appeared. Surprised I noted, "I'm not sure we're quite ready for that!" to which the waitress replied, "yeah, it's the kitchen, I don't have any control over when food comes out," as she jostled the plates onto the table amid all the others.
My 6 oz sirloin was decent, but overcooked (I ordered "very rare" and it was served medium rare); my companion's New York was gristly and tough.
In keeping with the pace of the evening, the check appeared while we were still trying to eat, and the waitress even stopped back by the table to ask for payment before we'd finished. It's not like we were lolligagging... remember, the noise level described earlier.
When I have a bad experience at a place of business I believe that the right thing to do is to give the establishment a chance to make it right somehow - or to at least take feedback to make the next person's experience better.
In keeping with this principle when the waitress came by a second time to collect payment I made a point of asking her if the salads were pre-made, noting the soggy condition of both croutons and lettuce.
The cherry atop our experience was her reply: "Yes we get alot of complaints pretty much every day about the things you've mentioned, but that's the responsibility of the kitchen so there's nothing we can really do to change it."
Given that outlook, I'd suggest skipping Logans and opting instead for O'Charleys next door, or Farm to Fork...
Read moreI want to give a huge shout-out to Megan, she was our server this afternoon and the best server we ever had. From the moment we were seated by her and by the looks of it she was also helping the little host out when she had her hands full of dishes she sat us down. From the start she was the sweetest, we asked for a risen booth near by because its hard for me and my husband of 50 years to move around, and she made it happen and she got our drinks and rolls out immediately. She also took it upon herself without being asked brought my husband a spoon for his unsweetened tea so he can stir in his sweetener. She took time to explain and recommended some appetizers and their new 12.99 meal, and offered personalized recommendations on what we do like, some sort of chicken. My husband just got 5 crowns in his teeth and she recommended getting a grilled chicken, a sweet potato, and a side salad. All were very delicious. I asked if there is any possible way to get my husband chicken cut, she said yes and took it apon herself to cut it for him so I can eat my chicken while it's still hot. Throughout the time we were here she was very kind to other nearby tables always refilling our drinks. When we were ready for our dessert she remembered and afterwards she had our check on hand, asked for two box, she even offered a to go fresh unsweet tea for my husband because it looked watered down, brought him his new tea and spilda and a to go bag and opened it for us so we didn't have to struggle to open it up for our boxes without being asked and put our boxes in for us. She also was talking to us about her cat colony in her neighborhood, how she feeds them, even bought them little cat houses, and show us pictures of all of them. She even named them too. That alone tells you a lot about a person. Megan's dedication to customer service was exceptional, she truly made our dining experience memorable. She told us to have great rest of our day, drive safe, and feel free to stay as long as we like since it was raining bad. We will definitely be asking for next time. She definitely earned her 20% plus the extra 40$ my husband slid...
