Dodge's Southern Style — Restaurant in Fort Walton Beach

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!! Management is awful!! I went in there to cash a money order and they said they needed to verify it was real. Which I understood the clerk whose name tag said "the z" said he couldn't verify because amscot kept sending him to a voicemail, so I called the office I got the money order from and she said I can talk to him and he refused saying he can't trust my phone (huh?!) so I told him the 1800 number he was calling was wrong because I verified it with amscot and the was calling the customer service department. So I told him and said I had the exact number for the location I got the money order at and if that's not enough I have the correct 1800 number and he said he can't so I asked to speak to a manager who asked me a ton of questions about where I got it and why I got it and why I don't need it anymore and I told her my boyfriend got it to pay a bill that I had already payed so we wanted the cash but we are visiting his parents so we are in fwb and not Tampa where there is amscots, she then said I needed an ID and my boyfriend had called and she said he needed a local ID but my boyfriend didn't tell me this (which is our fault) but then after much arguing she agreed to cash it and he started to proceed with the transaction, after almost finalizing the transaction he had been using my ID to finish this transaction he says he can't cash it because it's a California ID and needs to be a Florida id keep in mind he just spent 20 mins with my ID and just now realized he can't do it!?! What?!?! Then he goes lets go talk to my boss so he takes us to the back of the store and she starts yelling at us saying that she told my boyfriend it had to be a local ID but I told her that her employee should have Known this before proceeding with the transaction, and letting me fill in the money order to myself because now we can't change it! And she said we can go back and forth all day but she said she will do this one last time and that's it never again will she help us and I said ok we won't be coming back and I heard her whisper "you're not welcome" when we walked away I got my money with a 5% fee but whatever. As I was walking out I noticed aa sign that said a government issued ID was required nowhere does it say it has to be a local ID!! Please don't go here ts the worst place ever! Rude clueless and...

C-store that sells fried chicken and related items. I can't comment on the chicken as I have never tried it. I can tell you that the breakfast items are over priced and always over cooked as far as the egg and sausage goes the sausage can be as tough as rubber and the biscuits are either chewy or simply fall apart from being dried out because they sat so long in the case. if you can time it to where they are just putting the biscuits out, they are enjoyable. I tend to shy away from the items in the case because they could've been there for hours. the gas islands are usually cleaner than most other c-stores and I like that they have pumps right up in the front row of parking. it can be a hassle to back out though if it's busy. also, be aware that even if you pay with a debit card at the pump, you will be charged the credit price even though a debit card is considered to be a cash transaction I'd you use a PIN. Even inside if you prepay with a debit card, you will be charged the credit price. gas prices are usually in line with the surrounding competition but can be slightly higher at times. I've never seen it lower than the competition. the employees CAN be pleasant at times but don't expect much personality or help from them. they are polite and quick to ring you up and complete the transaction so that you can be on your way. it is obvious that the employees are not happy with some part of their employment at Dodges add to that the "needy" customers wanting to purchase gas or drinks or snacks even chicken and you will understand what I'm saying. you feel like you are doing something wrong by "making" them do the job for which they were hired to do. it is usually clean and we'll stocked aside from the soda fountain aisle which is always dirty with straw wrappers sticking out of the full trash cans, cups left on the fountain itself, spilled soda on the counter and a stack of never used lids because you have to pull out 3 lids just to get 1 to...

Worked here for a few days, will have to agree with a few comments beneath, most of the workers complain about the job or other coworkers making the entire experience dreadful. Excluding that, bought a 6 piece spicy wing that was undercooked in result, led me a trip to the ER with food poisoning. I would attach pictures for proof but unfortunately can’t. Told manager about it the same night, didn’t get a response, expected some time of feedback the next day, nothing but instead addressing more concern about me leaving for another job. Not trying to down talk the company itself, but I’m a realist. Will simply tell it for what it is and isn’t.
