I had the opportunity to visit your restaurant for the second time yesterday, and this visit was particularly special because I was celebrating my 50th birthday. My husband made reservations for 14 people four weeks in advance, and our friend Beth took care of all the arrangements and setup.
We had a reservation for 6:30 PM, but we didn't arrive until around 7:00 PM because we stopped to assist a mother and daughter who were involved in a hit-and-run accident. When we walked in, I noticed that all my friends had already arrived.
Unfortunately, only one waiter was available, and she appeared very stressed and overwhelmed, as though she didn’t want to deal with a party of 14. Although the restaurant was busy, the tables were not set up together; some were high and some were low. The servers seemed overwhelmed as well, which left me quite taken aback by the situation.
I noticed several things that could have been improved. The service was poor, and the food I ordered was incorrect. The bills were mixed up, and the waiter seemed to need assistance but didn’t ask for help. For instance, I ordered egg rolls that took 45 minutes to arrive at my table. We didn't receive the rest of our food until about 8:30, closer to 9:00 PM. Meanwhile, the table next to us, which had a party of eight and arrived around 6:30, had their food served by 7:00 PM and were gone by 9:00 PM.
I was told that the band would sing "Happy Birthday" to me, but that never happened, and my name was never put on the board. We spent $300 for dinner, and during the meal, the waitress spilled water all over my friend's back and never cleaned it up. I almost slipped on the water that was left on the floor. It was both rude and disrespectful.
To make matters worse, I had to go to the bar to get a pitcher of water because I couldn't find the waiter who was supposed to be assisting us. Then, I ordered an alcoholic drink, paid for it, but never received it. The waiter later informed me that they didn’t have that drink available, so I ordered a glass of wine instead, which finally arrived about 30 minutes before we left.
Most of our food was cold. I ordered Chicken Piccata, and it was both cold and very dry. I never received my small house salad. Overall, this was not the experience I had hoped for, especially on such a special occasion. Our waitress even got upset and said it wasn’t her fault. I found this frustrating, especially considering the awful experience I had on my 50th birthday. She even complained that she didn’t receive enough tips that day. When you provide bad service and don’t check on how our day is going or ask about the food, how can you expect good tips?
To make matters worse, the waitress contacted my friend Beth and sent her text messages asking why our tips weren’t better. I find it very disrespectful and rude that she had Beth's phone number in the first place. I really dislike leaving a bad review, but since I spent my 50th birthday at your restaurant, this was not the...
Read moreWe had a reservation and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. We waited 10 minutes before a waitress came to the table. The waitress did not ask one person in our group if they wanted a beverage, she started to walk away and he called for her but she did not hear him.. There were 6 of us. She finally came back with the waters 5 of us asked for. The waitress didn't even acknowledge the 6th person in our party didn't have drink. He finally said can I order a drink please. The wine brought to me was Moscato and not the chardonnay I ordered, I sent it back. The live music started and we couldn't even talk among our group of 6, at our booth. When the waitress finally came to take our order we all had to point at our menus because she couldn't hear us. The same exact person she skipped for a drink order she also skipped for a food order. She was ready to leave the table and she had to be asked by the same person that was forgotten last time if she would take his dinner order. Unacceptable. The food did not come out together, but rather several minutes apart. Eventhough some in our group ordered appetizers as their meal. The calamari was overcooked, the blackened shrimp and grits was hot on the surface but cold internally. The ahi Tuna was presented as a chunk of Tuna with greens on the plate, it was a very messy presentation. Most of the ahi appetizer was not eaten. The shrimp salad had fresh greens but the shrimp was not properly cooked, and only had 4 pieces of shrimp which as a dinner selection didn't seem like the correct amount. The size of the shrimp were not jumbo. Alcoholic drinks seemed that they were being kept an eye on by the waitress, but the tea and water at the table went empty in glasses more than once. The waitress never asked if anyone wanted any additional food or dessert, only drinks. When the checks came it was a disaster. No one had the correct food on their bill, There were 3 checks for 6 people and we had already told the waitress at the beginning which checks were together. It took at least 20 minutes to get the checks sorted out. It was only the following morning that we found the restaurant ran our credit card for an amount $10+ more than our bill plus tip. We will not be going back because this was our second bad experience at the restaurant. The first was also poor staff (a disgruntled waitress who bad mouthed the owner and food), and food that was overcooked. This should...
Read moreWe visited on a Friday to enjoy their live music. We reserved a table and arrived a little after six. The music started about 7:45. There is not a dedicated parking lot, but there is parking nearby. This is in a busy restaurant area, so depending on tourist season, and events happening nearby, parking can get tricky.
We started with the Spring Rolls. They were very tasty, and the sweet chili sauce served with them was a great accompaniment. My husband ordered a chocolate martini, I had the lemon drop martini. His was a bit more alcohol tasting, whereas mine was strong but didn't taste strong. My husband ordered the Linguine Alfredo with chicken, I ordered the surf and turf filet. My steak was delicious, and I enjoyed the Grilled shrimp. My husband enjoyed his dish. The salads were also very tasty, with the house dressing (a modified caesar) and sun dried tomatoes. The garlic mashed potatoes were also very good, and the bread was delicious. We finished the night off with their brownie dessert. The presentation was beautiful, but the brownie itself was very dry. There was also quite a lot of whipped cream, which I personally don't enjoy.
Our table was in a prime spot, stage right. We were near a lot of speakers. It wasn't overwhelming, as far as loudness, but it did distort the music a bit. We heard a ton of base, and less vocals/guitar. Still, we enjoyed the band.
Our server was pretty busy, and we noticed. My husband needed a couple refills that took a little while, but we didn't hold it against him. Maybe the busses could also fill water? The food did come put quickly,...
