Sassie Cakes — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

I had a bad experience here due to poor communication. My phone consultation was cancelled not once but twice the day of. The first one I had to call them after they went past the 10 minutes of the start time and I called asking why I haven’t heard back. And they said oh we got busy with Valentine’s Day weekend and we can’t take any consultations due to being so booked. Yet I had the consultation booked at least a week in advance and this was never mentioned to me or was it listed on the website. They literally would not have told me this if I didn’t call myself and figure out why no one was calling me for my consult. They also did not seem to care that they completely left me hanging with no apologies or nothing from the owner other than excuses. I decided to give them another chance and schedule another consultation ASAP. For those of you who aren't familiar with the booking website this business uses, they have to accept or decline your order/consultation/etc. Come to find out she declines the consultation within 30 minutes of the phone consultation start time lol… She says she is busy at a Super Bowl party. Then don’t have the date and time available on your website? Just a thought.. ? At least the owner emailed me and apologized personally due to having to keep canceling me but I still think they handled the situation poorly and they seem to have issues with the bookings not going through so they are not getting accepted or declined and therefore have these poor communication skills. I just think they have some improvements to do and hopefully communicate better and in ADVANCE with other future customers than how they treated me. Because it just showed me that if they can’t even uphold a phone consultation with me and communicate with me properly instead of leaving me hanging with no notice, then I’m not sure if I trust them to cater...

This place is absolutely the best!

I ordered a birthday cake from them that was their strawberry core with the strawberry fillings. The cake was sooooo good! It's super dense and rich, but in the best ways. You'll only eat a single slice at a time just because of how good it is, and how filling it is too! The icing is incredibly yummy, and so are the cake internals too!

Be sure to use their website! It's one of the best streamlined ways I've ordered a cake. Along with the fact if you have any questions about specific details for the cake design, or just want clarification for something they respond as promptly as they can. Also don't be afraid to call either! They're very lovely people, and are wonderful to talk to. DON'T KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE CAKES TOO LONG THOUGH! 🤣

All of the staff are incredible, and extremely helpful! Especially if you're like me and needed a little help to find the front door! 😅

10/10 this is my go to place for my cake, cookies, and cupcake needs.

I ordered a cake with real florals for my sister’s bridal shower from Sassies Cakes in Fort Wayne. When I picked it up, the flowers were already wilted. I was told to leave the cake in the sun for 30 minutes and they’d perk back up—unsurprisingly, that didn’t work. When I called the owner, Krista, she said her son (who was working that day) was supposed to tell me to refrigerate the cake for 30 minutes instead, along with offering several other excuses—such as fresh flowers sometimes wilt, they were overbooked that day, etc.

As anyone who works with flowers knows, once they’re wilted, they’re not coming back. So the advice (whether it was to sun or refrigerate the cake) felt careless and unhelpful. I emailed photos of the cake that evening and followed up three days later—no response now FOUR days later!!

Additionally, the cake was very dry and not impressive at all. I noticed many guests didn’t even eat half of theirs which was embarrassing. Photo of what I wanted along with cake I received below. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend them after...
