So, I must say that the brunch I had at this establishment was probably the best I have had. I personally enjoyed the variety and the healthy options on the menu. The fruit was fresh and tasty. However, I only gave 3 stars for service because of what my mother, my sister and I experienced. The stars would be non-existent if it weren't for one server whose customer service was exceptional . He was one of the reasons why I had a second visit! Unfortunately, the second time around was not so great...things started to get shady. I am writing as an observer to what happened to my mom and sister, as they were the ones treating me to brunch. I could not afford it at the time. We finished eating and they were given their bill by our waitress Cecilia. Upon receiving their cards back, they noticed that they had been overcharged $29.26. My sister politely beckoned for the waitress. We waited probably approximately 10 minutes. She finally came up and apologized and said that she already knew we had been overcharged before we even said anything. She mentioned that she had gotten us mixed up with another table. She took our receipt as if to go fix it. We waited. Finally she came back and explained that she couldn't fix it and that her manager/boss was the only person that had access to the cash drawer and was the only one who could give a refund. She further stated that the manager had left for the day and that if we came in tomorrow he would refund us. We weren't really satisfied with this answer, but decided to come back at a later date. We held on to our receipts. We do not live around the corner from this establishment. I work as a nurse and so I did not go back the very next day. I did take my mom back the next week, my sister gave me her receipt. It was early afternoon when we arrived, but they told us the manager wasn't there. The next time, a manager was there, but she was not THE manager we needed to give us the refund, but verbalized that she knew about the mix up and would relay the message to her boss. She took pics of my receipt upon request. By this time, both my mom and I were very upset. Next time I decided to call in the AM before making the 15 minute trip. I tried to talk to the manager about the refund. I got put on hold twice and talked to two different females. I never talked to the manager. No one could answer my question of if he was there or not. So at this point my mom and I are considering law enforcement because of the principle of the matter. They asked for the last few digits of card numbers over the phone, which, I really didn't feel comfortable with...I gave my sister's. I had already given them the receipt info. I told them I would call back in a little. (These are not my cards!) I called to get permission from my mom for hers. Before I could call my mom, they sent over this very professional looking link with a receipt that showed everything that we had ordered and that stated we had been refunded the amount. Early the lady on the phone said it would take up to 3 business days. So I thought it looked legit. I told my sister to keep a look out. Needless to say, neither mom nor my sister received a refund. I am putting this review up because I want to give a heads up to people eating here. Pay attention to the service and if your check isn't right, don't leave until you get everything straightened out. We have learned our lesson and won't be visiting this place anytime soon simply because it would only bring unpleasant memories....
Read moreI come here with my family quite often since past 5 years. I loved the food and I usually get the same exact thing every time I visit. Today I had a terrible experience where I happen to have a piece of bacon in my veggie garden omelette. This never happened before. Very politely I called my server Sofia and pointed it out because I don’t eat meat for religious reasons and I’ve specified that before placing the order as my daughters kids meal comes with a bacon but we substitute that with house potatoes. So the server Sofia comes and denies saying that the piece of bacon was “tomato”. I told her I definitely know what a tomato tastes like as this piece of meat had a chewy, smokey taste to it. She replied back saying “ it’s not my fault”. I told her I know it’s not your fault and this might have happened accidentally by the chef so she replied back saying “do you want me to replace it with hash browns”. I mean, why would I pay for a garden omelette and replace it for hash browns when the order itself comes with hash browns? I asked her to give me a new order and to take this back and confirm if it was bacon. She came back after talking to the chef and confirmed that it was Ham and not bacon.
I understand that the chef accidentally put it in the omelet but I was very upset and offended by the customer service I’ve received. Chewing on ham and being told that it’s tomato and offering potatoes instead, is a big deal for me. She then handed the check and machine for payment to my husband and she herself chose “22%” tip on her OWN! This was the end… how can she do this?
I’m sorry but this Cafe has lost a a very old customer of theirs because of this server. I have never experienced anything like that before. Every server that has served me from past five years has been kind and knew what they were doing. I feel like the key to business is good customer service. I was not being unreasonable for any reason.
I had to give one star to this restaurant just because of this server. I felt unvalued...
Read moreLost a customer over a cup of fruit. Well, more reasons than that - but basically over a cup of fruit. Have been coming here for a couple months now - it was kind of my guilty pleasure (without a lot of guilt). I would get the garden omelette (made with all egg whites), hash browns and a cup of fruit instead of the processed carbs (toast, muffin, pancakes, etc..). Until Friday, it had never been an issue (menu choice was supposed to be hash browns OR fruit cup and choice of a processed carb. In order for my "guilty pleasure" to not have a lot of guilt I would ask for the fruit instead of the not as healthy carb choices. Friday started off with the server not showing up for over 5 minutes (by the way, it was almost 2pm and almost no one in the restaurant - Not busy). Owner stopped by and asked me what I wanted to drink. Server arrives shortly after with my tea and asks if there's anything else I want to drink (huh?). She takes my order and then comes back a few minutes later to say that she'll have to charge extra because the hash browns and fruit cup are in the same "category" - doesn't bother to say HOW MUCH extra, and of course no offer to Credit me for the choice I didn't make. Told her they have been doing this for me for a while now and I'd be happy to leave if it was too much trouble to continue doing so. She went and talked to the owner, was a long talk - so I let them know not to bother and I'd take my business elsewhere. Food is decent but not That great. Service is okay (at least twice i've been left sitting there waiting for my check at the end of my meal). I guess business is good enough that losing a customer here or there isn't a big deal - couldn't even bother to say that they would do the substitution one last time, clarify that How much extra they were going to charge (were they going to charge for a fruit cup or only the difference between a side of pancakes vs...
