THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIBLE!!! Hey guys_ I Cannot Believe There Is Actually One of These calling themselves a (Mediterranean ???) Restaurant Much Less a Whole Chain poping up All over the mid cities and this Country.I Can't Think of One Solitary person I've Ever Known Who Is From Meditterean Descent who would Begin To call this food Mediterranean. Nor can I think of Anyone I've ever known whose had Mediterranean Food Who Would Find even Remotely describe this food as Mediterranean. What a joke/fraud... The only things u could possibly say was remotely authenic were the frozen prefab version Americans know as Gyro meat (not authentic) ( which they don't know how to pronounce, much less what's in it) & basmati rice. They don't know what the so called kabobs have in them, Don't know if they're Greek or Arabic (of course, after you learn there's basmati rice u expect some Arabic style kabobs) not hardly. The only spice they can tell u is Paprika? Everything comes premarinated, obviously, nobody reads the ingredients on the shipped box or bagged container. The "lemon chicken" kabobs were just sour. They had no flavor of Lebanese, Moroccan, Greek or any other discernable Mediterranean kabob. The Tabbouli clearly came from a box of dehydrated tabouli mix with "water" added to hydrate. No other flavor herbs like mint, no lemon juice or zest could I taste. The texture was almost soupy. Oh, they added a bit of Quinoa to it to make it trendy. Nice try but again, Not Mediterranean. The hummus, while u could recognize the bean flavor wasn't remotely what hummus should taste like. The worst was what they were charging for this inferior, low quality stuff. Get up & leave these places & never go back. People...U r so being ripped off by so many of these large corporate franchises serving u cheap ingredients & charging u way too much because they have new paint on the walls, new signs and uniform tables & chairs so to "call" themselves gourmet or upscale. GO seek out the real ones, the good ones & support those businesses who take pride in trying to offer u their best for the best price they can afford to give u. Then u will know how it should taste & smell. That food doesn't even have the lovely aromas of Any Real Mediterranean Restaurant I've ever been too, which are fragrances u don't forget and...When you smell them again u salivate at the thoughts of the tastes that correspond to those lovely aromas...and u pay your money happily...& then u leave having had a Mediterranean Experience. Shame on our cities for always bringing in these kinds of chains into our neighborhoods rather than bringing & encouraging much better choices with some authenticity & quality standards. Not just the one hideous Luna Grill (I stumbled into with my friends kids who don't lnow better and won't care until they've actally tasted the real thing) they're all over Mid Cities. My friend's children ordered & I asked questions & watched as this food came out in horror. I had a child size Gyro. (Cough, cough), that one was meant to be Greek Style, because it had a so called Tsaziki sauce, but the workers didn't even know that was supposed to be Greek$. Again. It wasn't really Tsaziki sauce. It was Thick Yogurt. Clearly most though I would wager, none of them have had strained yogurt, called Greek Style Yogurt by Marketing labels. Strained yogurt isn't Tsaziki sauce. I'm so tired of false marketing trying to make the most basic of home style cooked foods from different parts of the world into some trumped up "Gourmet" fair, just so they can rape the public who don't realize the real dishes are someone elses home cooked comfort food in most cases. Unless the dishes contain an extra ordinary amount of a few particular spices or something like that, there's no reason to charge u as if u have a plate full of real french truffles freshly found. &dug from the ground or an enormous amount, Persian or Spanish Saffron...or ounces of real Vanilla from Madagascar...
Read moreJust spent 20 dollars to learn to avoid Luna. While it seems trendy to call out racism, I will omit this label and instead use incompetence. I do this not because I do not have reservations about the attitudes of the managerial staff toward people who do not look like them but because racism is ignorance, and ignorance begets incompetence. Thus by calling out the issue, a solution might be attained. I was out for lunch with my children, it was their stuffy's birthday, so I took the kiddos to sweet frogs while I grabbed a quick bite at Luna. A 20-dollar terrible choice. Once in Luna, I was met by a rude clerk; I ordered my food to go to keep on the day's festivities. I tipped at the checkout, which was a terrible idea as tips are meant to reward good service, good service that was nowhere in sight. After a prolonged waiting time, I went to the counter, where the manager offered no help and was bothered by my inquiring about my order. The audacity of me going up to him to bother him and inquire about my order. How dare I. The disdain and attitude he gave me made me lose trust in Luna. If he is unable to answer a simple question, how am I to trust his team with proper hygienic food preparation? Attitude reflects leadership; if the manager is incompetent, so must the rest of the staff. As evident by the clerk who took my order, I could go on describing his behavior and actions, but I will spare you. I left, did not care for a refund, did not care to spend another minute in that place. Luna, keep my 20 dollars; invest them in employing better-qualified personnel. As for me, I am going to continue the festivities with my children. The terrible experience your establishment caused me ends with...
Read moreGot food to go...fair warning, don't order online as they may pend a charge on your account but the order won't go through to the restraunt. then you have to wait until the end of the day to see if the charge has cleared. TBD. Food overview: Good looking to the eyes. Hummus is okay and pita bread looks grilled but even comes out of wrapped foil only barey warm. Lentil soup was good. Gyro is bland, didn't even bother to eat it. Tzeki sauce is very good and not chunky Like other places. Kids didn't bother to eat their strange pile of gyro meat either. Fries are not fresh made and again arrived cool to touch. Cheese quesadilla seems to have gone over okay and got one thumbs up from 11 year old vegetarian. 12 year old says "rice wasn't as Good as last time, but otherwise it was ok" on his gyro plate. I enjoyed the salad and dressing, the carrots were also very nice. My plate of the chicken and ground beef kabobs were very flavorful and was a big portion, couldn't finish it. Husband's Mahi was small, maybe 4oz. It also came with 4 flaffel. It also was a good overall portion. He did finish his plate. The baklava at 9.00 was not worth it for the 6 portion. I guess I am a baklava snob, but I have definitely had better locally. For an 85.00 meal to feed 6, it was okay. On a vote, 3 of the kids said they would eat there again. for the price I would probably venture to...
