Went here for a Father’s Day breakfast. First off the room had a smell when you walked in the door. We found an open table. Sat at there and the table was wobbly. Asked the waitress if she could assist us with putting something under the leg to stable it out. She replied NO rather rudely because she was too busy. She wasn’t that busy. It may have been the fact that she was an older lady and couldn’t bend over. The suggested the bus girl could help or we could move. So we asked to move then she tell us there are on other tables. The booth behind us was open. We asked for that and she said it was reserved for someone already. At this point with this poor service and rude old waitress I said she will not get a tip. She replied not today that is just rude. Rude was not assisting the customer with a defective table. She told us that she would not be serving us and would get us another waitress. Which was a good thing. This one was friendly. The restaurant is old and needs a good cleaning. Half way thru our meal my grandson said look an ANT on the wall. Sure enough there was an ANT crawling on the wall. At this point I like I an thru with this place. While there we saw a waitress kick a spoon out of her way instead of picking it up. It landed next to a customer’s chair. Safety hazard all day long!! And the waitress that kicked the spoon was not carrying anything in her hands so she could have picked it but didn’t nor did she go back later to pick it up. And like stated in past post, the food was not hot so it may be pre-made then rewarmed. Bad waitresses should not be expected to receive a tip for bad service. That is why the waitress with the Mickey Mouse apron didn’t want to our table. She knew her customer experience was bad/awful and rude. Needless to say I will return...
Read moreIn order to be negative we must also be fair and positive. On Saturday, May 28, my wife and I had intended on going to IHOP but to our surprise, the restaurant was closed. We noticed a place 2 doors down called Rise and Shine, so we ventured over to have breakfast.
If a restaurant could self inflict wounds, this one surely does the job. We all know the face of a restaurant are those of its Servers. I can see this restaurant has a major downfall with one of its own. Sharon or Shari (?) has one very negative and irate attitude. This server makes one want to go home and literally cry.
We are not accustomed to all the cursing, slamming our drinks down on the table and forgotten silverware in such a vulgar and rude manner. *Key point. Empty Napkin Holder. We asked for napkins no less than 6 times until we switched out the napkin holders ourselves, afraid to ask the rude Server.
We were never served the homemade bread that we had ordered. We think the table next to us must have gotten ours. It did, however, look really good. Again, we did not want to disrupt the vulgar, rude Server.
The restaurant was not that busy while we were there. We did not understand why this Server was stressed beyond any possible return. We began to regret ever stopping here in the first place.
Obviously, the management does not work in this establishment as these actions would hopefully not be occurring.
The food we did receive was very good, omelettes. We would have really liked to try a sampling of the homemade bread; but, we will not chance it by returning. We refuse to deal with extremely poor service from here, or anywhere else, for...
Read moreOkay, I know you have all been looking for a review that you can trust and anything that will help you make your final decision about where you're going for breakfast! I ordered over the phone and my two orders of French Toast, Bacon, and Eggs were ready in 10 minutes just like they told me it would be. As soon as I walked in i ran into 3 employees who were all very pleasant and immediately eager to help me. My French Toast was made from home-made, thick, soft bread which was a huge plus. The bacon was not like something from IHoP, Denny's, McDonald's, etc. Instead it was thick, perfectly cooked and tasted great. I also asked for extra syrup and butter and they provided more than enough. I have ate this same meal all over the country and this is the first breakfast in the DFW area that I am excited to repeat. Thank you Rise and Shine for this experience and I hope that everyone reading this finds it helpful. I travel for work and order this meal all over the country so my expectation for it is very high and they did not disappoint! It was much better than the other restaurants I've tried around town and I'm definitely going to make this my go to Saturday and/or...
