I am shocked that this place has an overall average over four stars. Being in the restaurant business is beyond difficult. Your livelihood relies on your ability to produce food that most people enjoy along with service deserving of a monetary reward in excess of the bill. Tang’s Pacific Bistro does neither. The service. I ordered our meals online and the estimated time of delivery was about 20 minutes. Great! After waiting 20 minutes I noticed that the Pizza Tracker still had the status of my order as “Pending Restaurant Confirmation” or something like that. So I called and asked id they received my order to which the young lady replied that they had. She was nice but I could tell no one had checked because shortly after hanging up I received confirmation of my order being accepted and the food was in the preparation portion of the process. The estimated time of deliver was extended out another 20 minutes. Fine. Everyone has a bad day I get it. After waiting another 25 minutes I called and decided to cancel my order. It was already 5:45 when I ordered and an hour had passed. The same nice person answered and I politely asked to cancel my order. She asked me to hang on and I agreed. The manager or owner came on the lime and said that my food had just left with the driver. Okay, fair enough. It is a ten minute drive with traffic so my hungry family at least would be fed soon. After another 20 minutes our food arrived. Feeling both lied to and cheated I grabbed our food from off the porch and divvied it out. The food. To say that the food was bland is a compliment. Sawdust must have more pizzazz than their fried rice. The General Tso’s Chicken was greasy and even with extra spice was so mediocre that it is hard to remember being so underwhelmed with flavor. The egg rolls were okay if they are frozen but if they are fresh then they need to rethink their packaging.
Perhaps I am being too harsh because of the dishonesty of the manager or my disdain of terrible service. Either way, I hope your experience is better than mine. I do not think it will be.
This is twice this has happened. No one deserves a third chance unless you are talking...
Read moreThis going to be a long review because the whole situation is very long. So the first time we got food delivered from here, man it was awesome. It was at our door in 45 minutes. We bragged to our kids how much better it was than the other place. Well last night we ordered from here, and was told it would take 45 mins to an hour. That's fine because I ordered more food. Well after an hour and 10 minutes I called. They said it must of just left the building because they didn't see it. 10 minutes later I get a text from the driver saying he was on his way. I asked if it was cold because it had been out of the door so long. He said no, that they had mixed up the order and he had just left, so it actually was still at the restaurant when I called. So he comes, and I know it isn't his fault so I still tip him even though he didn't expect it. I open up my food, and low and behold the two items that I must have - Chicken Lo Mein are missing. I instead received something else, but only one order. I think it was Kung Pao chicken, which I didn't order. Basically my wife and kids only eat small portions of the entries but larger of the Lo Mein, so without the Lo Mein it is like receiving nothing. I called and explained this to the restaurant, and she tells me, she is sorry the orders got mixed up. She started to remove the two Lo Mein's and gave me the price for the food we did get. I said no thank you. Have your delivery driver come on back, and pick up the food because without the Lo Mein I am not paying for this food. She said nevermind, keep the food because she couldn't send the driver back for food. She did give me a full refund. The food here is great. I was happy they refunded me my money, but to go through all of this is why I am giving three stars. I won't be able to get delivery from here in the future because of course they specially mark customers like me in their system, but if I go and pick it up, which I will because it is good, so be it, but that will be limited because delivery makes...
Read moreFood was okay, barely filling. Got the Pu Pu platter to sample a variety of appetizers, including beef sticks, crab rangoon, egg roll, shrimp tempura, fried dumpling and spare rib. The beef sticks were very thin and dry but probably one of the most flavorful things that we got.. the crab rangoons are horrendous, soggy yet tough. Egg rolls are upgraded spring rolls and yet probably best thing in the order. Shrimp tempura was also soggy and tasted old. Fried dumpling was flavorless and rubbery. The spare rib was okay, nothing to be desired. Then we got two entrees, Pineapple chicken --with bell peppers, carrots, white onions, snow peas, and pineapples. The chicken was kibbles and bits with two to three big pieces of chicken the rest was a lot of pineapple and handful of veggies. Next Mongolian Beef --stir-fried with green onions, yellow onions and served topped with sprinkles of crispy rice noodles. There was zero rice noodles and an insulting amount of onions that you have to dig through to find the minuscule amount of shriveled up nothing meat they want to call "velveted beef" this entree is the only reason I came to leave a review in the first place. It's nothing special, bland food and would have left it at that and never returned but the insane amount of onions to tiny bits of beef ratio would have been laughable if I hadn't paid $17 for it...in total $50 for 2 entrees and an appetizer platter for pure disappointment and plus an automatic 15% gratuity charge if you don't catch it before you check out for your...
