Beware of this specific Taste of Asia. My fiancé and I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it just isn’t worth it.
The first time we went was utter chaos. It took us 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by the staff. When we finally ordered, it took them 45 minutes to even make our sushi rolls (we were the 2nd couple there... so 4 people in the restaurant total PLUS, they already had their food). Their excuse was that their sushi chef quit prior to us walking in and the other guy was struggling to figure out how to make the rolls.. which we understood. So we waited the 45 minutes to find out that they made us the wrong rolls. We told the waitress and of course, she came up with an excuse on how it was the “right roll” even though we have clearly ordered that roll plenty of other times at a different Taste of Asia. Also, the ginger they gave us was completely spoiled, the table was dirty, the staff never checked in on us, etc. so we left.
This time, tonight, he and I went back in hopes of it being a bit better. Which it wasn’t. We both ordered a sushi roll, mine was fine, but his was supposed to be tuna (which mine had actual raw tuna) but it looked like the tuna you find in a can at Walmart. We again asked about the roll and she came up with yet another excuse on why his tuna didn’t look like mine. Ignoring the fact that the service was bad, the continued to eat. When it came time to pay, the waitress took his card and proceeded to the counter. 15 minutes roll by... still no credit card. Finally after 20 minutes we decide to walk up to the counter to see what’s going on and to our surprise, they lost his credit card. They spent 10 minutes trying to find his card with no luck. Finally, he walked over to the people that got their check before ours and asked if they saw an extra card, which luckily they did. How can you confuse cards to the point of handing a couple 2 rather than the one they paid with?
Either way, the Taste of Asia is POORLY managed and needs better staff. If you want a good Tast of Asia, try the one on White Settlement next to the Clifford Walmart and Albertsons. The food is way better, the staff is friendly, and they don’t lose...
Read moreI honestly don't know how this place is getting an average of a 4 star review. Those giving it 4 star reviews haven't really tried good food. Want an example of delicious Chinese food.....Canon Chinese Restaurant. Service was good and the waitress was very attentive to our table with toddlers and helped out where she could. But the food was very low quality. We ordered 3 dishes that contained the proteins of Beef, Chicken, and Tofu. The beef wasn't quality beef and chicken wasn't chicken. The tofu was not the texture of what tofu should be either. The only thing that I could think of that they did right was the rice. All the dishes did come with fresh vegetables but they weren't cooked long enough and were still "raw" and hard. Stir frying vegetables should make them soft and easily chewable. I have to be honest and state that I used to come here many years ago (6+ years) and thought it was good. Not until you branch out and really enjoy what Fort Worth has to offer on true AUTHENTIC food would you realize that this isn't all that for the same money. I came here because a family member wanted to eat here so I gave in. I didn't truly enjoy anything and it was hard to just leave during a lunch break from work. Coming here pretty much solidified why I haven't returned after so many years. Look elsewhere. This pretty much goes far any of the TOA's in the Metroplex. 2 stars from 1 star only because of the sweet waitress...
Read moreThe food was hot and fresh. Portions are extremely large but not as flavorful as my family and I would like. I may say… I had a very unique experience. My family and I didn’t really like the food but didn’t make a big scene about it. And since my family were ready to leave because the reasons stated previous; I walked to pay for my food upfront. I believe the cashier and the server didn’t communicate because after I paid and left the building the server came out to ask if I paid. This took me aback. I was instantly confused because…. Why didn’t anyone tell you I paid? He then proceeded to take my license plate number down which surprised me because I stopped to address him and waited for him to confirm that my ticket had been paid out. He then came back and apologized but it’s safe to say I won’t go back. Key points behind that issues that I had : 1.)Huge portions but not seasoned well. 2.)Great customer service but lack of communication between staff. 3.) Pricey for the taste meaning you are getting ALOT of food but I don’t know if it will be great. For example the fried rice was just egg and rice nearly white with a very bland taste. The teriyaki chicken was not grilled and sauce was thin with lots of sesame seeds. The egg rolls seemed to have rice noodles in them and hardly any cabbage or meat. At the end of all this my waiter was still tipped decently and we left with an apology but...
