I am leaving my previous 5 star review in place, as a value comparison. It makes me so sad to write this review because we have loved this place for years; we drive down from North Tarrant whenever we want habachi, but after this experience, I will be looking for a more convenient spot (recommendations welcome). When we went this time, we had two of the plates in our party order a filet and shrimp, but we got one steak and shrimp instead, (the other party at our table heard us talking and verified that one of the cuts was filet and the other was steak). I am not bougie or anything, but for my friend, the cut mattered. We calmly spoke to them about our concern, and offered to accept a new cut or to remove that meal from our ticket. The front end manager said no problem, we'll remove it from the ticket, but whoever was in the back over rode him and we proceeded to listen to them talk about our "mistake" loudly from the kitchen. Honestly, the cooking mistake was not a big issue, but the response from management was intolerable. Making a new filet would have cost 5 or 6 bucks tops, but your failure to recognize that the customer is always right, and worse, your lack of respect for longstanding customers, has lost you an extended family of faithful patrons.

Previous review... New Management maybe?

(We love this place! when we head out is not even a discussion, lol. The service is great, the atmosphere is friendly, and, whether you're at the habachi or the sushi bar, the food...

I am only posting 5 stars because I want this to be seen. We went to Edohana with our 6yr olf son tonight, after him being with his mother all summer. The dinner was a welcome home dinner(special to us and to him). We get seated right away and proceeded to give the server our drink order, which she messed up on 3 times. We get through that debacle and give our food orders, soup and salad came without any problem but when chef comes to prepare our food he finds the stove didn't work. After two or three men try to fix it right in to no avail( this took about 20 minutes), they decide to fix our food on the stove behind him, which was already occupied with people eating. So here we are watching the chefs back while he grills our food😠, he has to turn around to place the food on our plates which left a trail of food, where he dropped it because of the distance. I am beyond upset at this point, so the people get up to leave ( the ones who got to watch part of our food being prepared), we have rice on our plates at this time...when the staff cleans away the dirty dishes and seats a whole new party😠😠😠. The chef scrambled through preparing our food( most of it was burnt) so they could provide service to the new customers. We got our bill $80 some odd dollars!!!! Not even a discount!!! So we paid for a meal so our 6yr old son could enjoy, and all we got was the above service!!!😠😠😠 they care more about profit then they do their customers. We will...

We have been customers here at least a month until our experience tonight. The front staff is not the friendliest, but the food is pretty good, so we put up with the unfriendly staff until tonight. I was having dinner with a friend and some of our family members. We had been there a little over an hour and a half and I was still eating, when one of the front staff employees came to our table and asked me to hurry up and leave because they had a long wait (in front of everyone eating at the same table). He said I had been talking the whole time. You go to dinner to talk and visit, and I still had food on my plate. I would've been finished in less than 15 minutes. I was so taken aback that even the family next to us remarked how rude he was. While I was finishing my dinner quickly, my friend took my children to see the koi pond, and the same employee told my friend, "Don't let this happen again." This was not her fault nor justified at all. When I left, I tried talking to the staff about how displeased I was, and that I was a regular customer. He told me not to return and refused to give me his name or his manager's name. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant based on the rude customer service we received to anyone. There are plenty of other Hibachi places in the DFW area who treat their customers...

THEY AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE A 18% SERVICE CHARGE AND REQUEST AT TIP ON TOP OF THAT! (They brought out multiple receipts for each person in our group making it very kerfuffled and sus. Some in our group ended up accidentally tipping 40%) It was very loud and more group orientated, we went for a birthday and it was fun but getting service including drinks took a while because of the amount of people and flagging down a waiter was hectic on the Thursday dinner we went. We did have reservations in advance too. We had to yell just to speak to the person next to us. The floors were sticky and they played Fox News the entire time. The hibachi chef we got wasn't the most energetic but it was still fun and the skill absolutely was there. The hibachi dinners include a light soup broth that was very flavorful and a basic salad with a vinaigrette type of dressing. The main dinner food included half a dinner plate of rice, a quarter lo mein and a quarter vegetables and half the plate of chicken with two side sauce options. For the $21 per plate I feel like we got a good amount of food especially for it being made so fresh.

It would’ve been 5 stars before today… I’ve been coming here for years. Like most people, I never thought of leaving a review until my wife and I had a bad experience. We arrived between 6:30 and 6:40 tonight. The lobby was packed. It’s a regular Wednesday, nothing special. We asked about the wait and was told. 20-25 minutes (LIES!) Also, the hostess told several people after we arrived it was a 20-25 min wait We were seated 70 min later. It’s now 8:30 and the chef just walked out to our table. There are only 3 chefs working and 4 tables still waiting. They are obviously short staffed, which isn’t the problem. They lied about the wait to keep people here. After over an hour you feel obligated to keep waiting. Wow!

Wow. This use to be our favorite place to go before we moved. Since moving back it has gone downhill fast. Upon arriving it was fairly empty I was told there would be a wait, no problem I asked how long and the man working the front of house told me he had no clue. I said 30 minutes? 1 hour? He said he had no clue. I decided to use the facilities before this wait and noticed how absolutely disgusting they were. I brought it to their attention but was blown off. We immediately left. If this is any indication of their cleanliness I will never be going back. Tried calling while leaving to let managment know to clean the bathroom. No answer. They were not busy.
