Here is my email to the hotel manager.
I would like to take this opportunity to talk about our recent stay. I like to leave reviews on google and yelp as I use those platforms while researching and often decide where I will stay at depending on accumulation of reviews. I decided to reach out to you beforehand as I didn’t want my review to come out of left field for you.
First and foremost, your staff is wonderful. They all have excellent customer service skills. Check in was super easy with a very welcoming front desk staff. And, housekeeper Norma kept our room well stocked with our necessities and was very accommodating when we asked for our room to be cleaned while we were out so we could come back to a nice clean and crisp room.
I have to say that you guys have to do some updating. Your plug in for extension/computers sent out a spark when I plugged in my computer to do work at the desk in my room. Not only that but the extension plug in itself was filthy and looked liked something was spilled on it. When we opened up the sofa bed to use, our pillow fell in between the mattress and the wall and it was so dusty and gross. The sheet had a hair ball in it. The bathroom stopper didn’t work right and we had to constantly fix it. There was spots around the tub that looked like blood and couldn’t be removed and we tried to clean it ourself. I imagine that these things are specialty cleaning items that are maybe done less frequently but still need to be done.
Our air conditioner didn’t really work right. Our first two night, we were literally sweating all night long. We thought maybe the Texas heat was getting to us. I requested for it to be repaired and I was told that maybe it had frozen over. Front desk sent a technician to repair it for us and it worked very well for one day but we had to leave the fan and AC running all the time and it was very loud. I don’t mind the loudness as much. Just wasn’t happy about the air conditioner not working. It would go through a cycle of cold air and towards the end it would send out about a minutes worth of heat. We had to leave the curtains closed the entire time to reduce the amount of heat from outside hoping that would help.
While researching the reviews prior to our visit, I read that you guys offered Starbucks coffee. This is a huge plus. When I went to buy some coffee I was told by the front desk that you guys don’t have any cream for your coffee. This is a terrible decision on your (Hyatt) part. Wow!! The front desk agent apologized and I appreciate the apology but this is just terrible. What hotel doesn’t offer creamer? Not even during breakfast time? Not even powder or those little individual portions? Definitely doesn’t make me feel like I’m on vacation when I have to go outside of the hotel for coffee.
The biggest complaint that I have is, we found roaches in the room. German roaches. I will add a screen shot below. We found this in the closet. If you have any knowledge about German roaches then you will know that once you see one, there are several more in its trail. I mentioned this to front desk and the very sweet lady apologized. I didn’t want to make a big deal because there were other patrons around and I had friends visiting me and was mostly very embarrassed. We didn’t want to stay there anymore after that but didn’t know what we could do since I had already prepaid for the trip on Priceline.
Among these issues I would have to say that updating is needed in the rooms. Everything feels sticky, looks very worn and dated and I will never stay at a Hyatt hotel again because of it.
I do want to let you know again that you have a very nice staff. Great customer service skills and very welcoming. I imagine the other issues are internal issues that needs...
Read moreWent to Fort Worth over the weekend and stayed at the Hyatt once again. Since I am a member and had such a great stay last time in Houston, I decided to stay with the same brand. First off, it's a really nice hotel on the outside, very close to shopping and dinning. When I checked in, the morning staff felt like they didn't want to be there and I really didn't get the customer service that I was looking for like last time. Granted this is a different place I brushed it aside and went to the room. By the look of the pictures it was a really nice room, ac worked really good and had plenty of space to move around. The bathroom was a little small and the light was a bit dim for me. Idk if your like me I like bright light in my restroom, lol but not blinding light, so I didn't mind. So got unpacked and started to settle in from the 5 1/2 hr drive I turn on the TV....doesn't work. That's strange, so I get up and hit the button on the TV itself and it turns on...great! So.. no biggie I think to myself "just call down to front desk and see of they can replace it, cool." No answer, just rang and rang and rang. At this point I was like they must be busy no problem, I'll just go down and wait my turn. I get down there and they are just glued to their cell phones with no one in the lobby.. I asked "can I please get another remote since this one isn't working" and the person just looks at me with a smug look, asks me did I check the batteries and then hands me another remote. I say thank you and I get no response just watching the person on their phone...to me this is a no no. I went to get ice on the 5th floor and the elevator button must of been broken because it never called for an elevator to stop at the floor and in my frustration I had to take the stairs to get back to my room. Bring your own soap because after you wash you hands it leaves your hands feeling super greasy. For whatever reason when asking the room cleaning people for help they would always reply that they don't speak any English. So, my stay at this place wasn't very enjoyable. I will have to say that the last day the morning person named Carnecia was freaking awesome!! Her customer service was on point as well as her attitude. She was super friendly, attentive and amazingly helpful. If I ever did stay here again and Carnecia wasn't working, I would just check out. This hotel would do good to give her a raise and allow her to train everyone else on proper...
Read moreI just stayed here from March 1-3. The pricing was fair for being in a pretty great location of Fort Worth. The room was absolutely MASSIVE, the hotel was fairly well soundproofed, check in was easy, ample parking, and the lobby was nice. Those are the pros. The cons: -I found a LARGE live cockroach in the shower curtain on the first morning. I called the front desk asking for someone to please dispose of it as I'm really scared of them. I told them I was in room 107 (right down from the lobby, probably only 50 feet away) and they responded that they would send someone. They never did. So I popped into the hallway about 10 minutes later and was lucky to find cleaning staff a few doors down. They took care of it quickly, but the management never apologized for roaches nor acted surprised that I found one. I checked EVERYTHING after that and was very cautious going forward. -Room cleanliness. It was after that point that I started looking a little more closely at the cleanliness... the headboard (which didn't even touch the mattress, there was quite a large gap between the bed and the headboard to where pillows would just fall down into it) had a bunch of splatters on it. I didn't want to know what they were. The alarm clock next to the bed looked like it hadn't been dusted in weeks and the snooze button had some questionable crusties on it. The furniture was cracked and worn. The carpet had old stains set in. -The shower. Normally I'm a huge fan of shower pressure, but this one was straight up painful. I had just had surgery in January, and when the jets of water hit my skin, it hurt so bad. Unfortunately there was no way to change the shower pressure as the head was just one setting.
All in all, I wouldn't...
