We bought tickets to go listen to a few small bands play Saturday night. The food truck outside was great! Sound was Great bands were outstanding, buuut when it came to the female Bartender working that night. things when downhill fast. The guy Bartender was great. He was fast, friendly, and accurate. She however got every drink order (our table was ten feet from the bar and had the exact same drink order all night) wrong. She acted very put upon to actually serve a drink because she was talking to her friends, maybe that's why she kept giving us the wrong order. Later in the evening when the main act got on stage, she and her friends started talking and laughing so loud that it was very distracting. People at tables near the bar were all turning around to glare at them to be quiet, but they weren't having it. So I got up and went over to ask them to be quite since we had paid for tickets in order to actually hear the band. It was folk music, so it wasn't like a rock show and the PA was at the perfect level for folk music, it wasn't up to drowning out such a loud group of folks. I doubt they paid for tickets like we had. About ten minutes later the biggest mouth of the bunch must have been stewing about it, and came over to our table. She wanted to start up a tussle. Now if we hadn't been enjoying the show so much I would have been happy to have a one on one with her, but she was drunk, loud, and obviously looking to create a scene. The Bartender did nothing about this until I pointed to her and asked her to get her friends under control. All just normal bar stuff I guess, but if you are going to sell tickets to a show then you better take responsibility for your patons, or refund the ticket prices and make it a free show. That kind of behavior has killed more bars than...
Read moreIt's M.A.S.S with a couch and 2 pool tables so no major changes. Pours are still hella heavy so that's a plus. The bartenders were fast and efficient. Someone would take my drink order and another person would put it on my tab. This allowed me to get alcohol inside my body in a logistically responsible manner. There's also a band lounge now. I accidentally sat in it thinking it was a regs lounge. I saw a couch and a table and a lamp so I wanted to utilize them for watching TikTok. Nobody said anything to me but eventually, I realized I probably wasn't allowed in that area if I weren't singing or playing an instrument. The room where the Dreamy Life record store used to be is now a room with space for other activities. I don't know if Cicada has plans to put something as cool as a record store in that space but as of right now, anything is possible. Below is a list of things they could put back there...

Read moreWe both work so much that we don't get an evening out often, so we were excited to go see some friends play there. We were really impressed with what the new owner has done, it's very comfortable and cozy. The only problem we had was that some people at the bar were talking so loudly that we were unable to hear the music we bought tickets for. I guess we were hoping for an experience similar to other venues, such as The Post, where loud or distracting patrons are asked to be quiet or leave. This place has the makings of a great place to spend time, but I wouldn't purchase tickets to see an artist I really wanted to see and hear...
