I visited Boot Barn earlier today to quickly find some straw hats for the rodeo. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to the limited selection on the women's side, which led me to try unisex hats—though we all know those are typically men's styles. I asked a female staff member if she could shape the hat to look more feminine, but she essentially said no. I ended up purchasing a fashion hat as a temporary solution.
When I looked for a hat for my husband, I couldn’t find the design or size I wanted. I asked for help, and she looked it up but simply suggested I go to another store that has it available, without offering to help find a similar style or size locally, even though I explained I needed it today. I settled for another hat that wasn’t quite his style but would work for the moment.
Finally, I asked the cashier for advice on how to style a Fourth of July scarf on my hat, curious about her opinion on the best way to do it. Her response was dismissive, telling me it was just a matter of personal preference. As I continued asking questions, she abruptly walked away mid-conversation, leaving me standing there. She then looked back at me, asked if I was ready to check out, and only then returned to assist me.
Throughout this experience, I couldn’t help but notice that my questions and appearance—being a Hispanic woman—may not align with the typical clientele they serve. Despite spending around $300 on nice straw hats, this experience made me feel unwelcome and dissatisfied with the service. I’ve had similar disappointing experiences in the past, including spending over $500 on winter hats last Christmas with similarly poor service.
My advice to the staff: regardless of someone’s appearance, money is money. Basic questions about products should be met with helpfulness, not indifference or offense. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself returning to Boot Barn due to the attitude I...
Read moreI felt judged and unwelcomed in this specific store. Upon entrance three young ladies gathered together (on the left register booth when you walk in through the front doors from the parking lot) all looked at each other, (one truning to her peers swiftly bursting into laughter in a High shcool OMG what are they doing here fashion, while the other two tried to hold their laugher in avoiding eye contact as if they saw somthing funny upon our entrance ( my wife and I). I have tough skin and don't believe the world revolves around me, so I didnt push the issue. One of the young ladies greeted us as we had already passed the register into the store due to there laughter. It felt sarcastic but whatever. We responded "Thank you." and kept towards the back of the store. I had never been to a Boot Barn before and was looking for Doc Martens. Although there is a huge selection of boots in-store nothing fit the style I was looking for.
As we were leaveing, the young ladies all looked at each other as we passed and looked like they were trying to hold their laughter in. As we had already passed through the first set of doors exiting to the parking lot One of the from the group (brunette/ black hair) sarcastically said yall have a nice day stopping my wife in her tracks to say somthing due to the rude laughter upon our entrance. I pulled her along silently. To avoid conflict. I called to speak to their manager 15min later a young lady picked up and said the manager was not there and that he would be in the next day she took my info down. I never got a call back. ( i am not 100% sure but I dont think she gave it to them.) I will not set foot in this store again. Nothing against the company but, there is no way thats the first time they acted like that...
Read moreThe staff at this particular store were unprofessional, very rude, and the store is not organized. As Ive read the reviews for this store, I see I am not the only customer with these same observations and encounters with staff. My daughter and I found matching dresses on the clearance rack, we took 3 dresses they had of this particular style (which were all on the clearance rack) up to the counter. We searched the store looking for more of this style dress because the size I needed had a huge rip up the side. There were no other dresses besides the ones on the clearance rack. When we got to the counter I asked if I purchased the ripped dress if I would get a discount. The clerk told me she'd only do a 15% discount. So I said no. I didn't feel an extremely thin poor quality dress with a 4 inch rip up the side that was on the clearance rack was worth $60. This must have annoyed the other clerk because she quickly turned around to snicker and talk about us to the other clerk. Then she wanted my personal info to enter into the register, I told her I didn't want to give that info out. I guess that also annoyed her bc she gave me a dirty look. Then when I pointed out the other 2 dresses I was purchasing were on the clearance rack, she wouldn't even look into it. She just said, they weren't on clearance. (The store is unorganized). Then after I paid she gave me a rude glare, said "here" as she shoved my bag of clothes at me. Then as we were leaving my daughter thought she left her phone on the counter so she turned around to see our cashier glaring at us and talking sh** about us as we walked out. I'll take my money to a store that is run professionally and cares about their customers,...
