UPDATE 4/9/24: They've gone from 5-stars down to 3-stars and now down to 2-stars. This is my third review update and for what was once my favorite pizza place in Fort Worth, I've gotta be honest, the food here is getting really bad. Spangler (pizza) with mushrooms had virtually no cheese on it, was not very hot. The artichoke spinach dip was completely inedible. It was served lukewarm and had this strange milky flavor to it like someone took old spinach dip and just mixed in a bunch of heavy cream to freshen it up but didn't bother to even bring it up to temperature and the chips tasted like an old dish rag, like someone left the bag sit open for three days and just put them on our plate and sent it. Server was kind enough to get this spinach dip taken off the bill. (See photo of Spangler missing its cheese).
PREVIOUS UPDATE: Total check was $57 that covered 1 round pizza, kids cheese pizza, zucchini fries and a house salad plus chicken. I noticed the salad portion sizes have gotten smaller and the zucchini fries are not that good anymore at all. They came out as a limp, soggy blob, the gentleman sent out a new order of zucchini fries, this time with a slightly burnt taste and really no better looking as far as the panko batter, it just isn't good, somehow they managed to ruin that appetizer. I think the problem is they are slicing the zucchini about the size of McDonald's french fries and they just go limp the way they are breading and frying them. Pizza was pretty good as usual but strangely, the mushrooms were so finely minced and then cooked almost to where you couldn't detect there were any mushrooms on the pizza. The other strange thing is we ordered the Spangler + mushrooms and caramelized onions, and I noticed a $1 upcharge for mozzarella cheese on the ticket. Not that big of a deal, but you'd think ordering a simple three topping pizza would come with cheese, maybe I'm missing something here? Our server Gina was nice, but after taking the food order, I don't think we interacted with her except at the end of our meal, a refill...
Read moreEDIT: The manager called me and apologized for the terrible service, which was nice. However, she said they were going to email a gift card to return but it’s been over a week now and nothing. Therefore, my overall experience with Zolis is still 1 star.
I went to Zolis with my family tonight….and wish I didn’t. We have a newborn and a 2 year old. Let me take you through the night: 6:20pm - we arrive Shortly after we place a drink, appetizer and kids pizza order. A little after that we place 2 regular pizza orders. We get our drinks and appetizer, then eventually get the kids pizza - probably around 7:15- ish My son is playing on the playground and time passes. We mention to the waiter our food is taking a while around 8pm! My wife asks to get everything to go and the waiter takes off the appetizer ($13), agreeing the food is taking a long time (& possibly went to another table). Note, it’s 8:15pm at this point, with a newborn & toddler. I ask to speak to the manager. I’m thinking, surely they’d comp the food. We’ve had 2 rounds of drinks for 3 people, which isn’t cheap. The manager comes back & says he can take off 1 pizza & hands me a bill for $92. Is this real life? It’s nearly 9pm at this point. At any other restaurant, I can almost guarantee either all the food or the drinks would be on the house. I mean we were there for over 2 hours! At this point I didn’t want to give them any more money & told the manager I just wanted to leave & get my family home. He handed me a $60 check & we finally left.
It goes without saying, there was zero customer service. The situation was no one’s fault but c’mon, all they had to do was say, “sorry about this inconvenience, we’ll cover the food tonight (or the drinks — basically anything besides a single pizza)
I am still just shocked that the manager thought it was ok to still hand me a nearly $100 bill for food we basically never got. Next time it’ll be JD’s Burgers or Wild Acre, both very kid friendly &...
Read moreUpdating this review to 2 stars, as the quality of Zoli's food has really gone downhill. They have changed the quality of their food so much that we won't be returning. This used to be our favorite place to eat, best burger and best mac and cheese in town. They changed their waffle fries to generic gross regular fries, burger is dry and tasteless, mac and cheese tastes nothing like it used to. Everything we loved there was a huge disappointment, and I can see from other reviews recently that something has changed for the worse. I'll leave my old review on so hopefully the owners can see that these new changes are not good, and you're losing customers over it. We talked with friends who also said the same thing. Really a shame.
OLD REVIEW (5 stars): Zoli's is a really fun place to eat. The décor inside is whacky and whimsical, and they have a neat outdoor patio with a yard for kids to run around in, complete with a chalkboard and all kinds of stuff to explore.
The menu has a broad selection of items...there is something for everyone. The reason we come here way more often than we should is for the O.D. Burger. It's simply fantastic. The waffle fries with a side of their jalapeno ranch to dip them in is pure heaven.
I've had their pasta, as well as their pizza, and it's always delicious and unique. Oh, and let's not forget the Gooey Butter Cake dessert, which is a warm delicious concoction that is beyond words....try it for yourself you will not walk away disappointed. Zoli's takes everyday favorites and puts their own twist on them, and it totally works.
Our waiters have always been top notch, and the place is spotless. Yeah, we kinda like Zoli's ;) try it out if you are in the mood for a fun upbeat place with unique food that will...
