Sonder coffee shop's customer service is lacking. I ventured in to this coffee shop based on 5 start online reviews. As I entered this establishment with the intention to work a bit, I was ready jump on my laptop. Unlike most coffee shops that greet you upon entering, I was not met with a welcome greeting, nor were any of the interactions met with a smile.
I asked the male barista to serice the table because it needed cleaning. He responded that he would attend to it after he finished his order with another customer. He dutifully addressed the table, however, without much of a welcome, except to respond to my wife who made the first effort to say "thank you". While he was finishing up his table servicing, I asked for the WIFI password, and before he returned to his counter, he quite firmly responded, "I'll take your order up front, when you are ready." Did he not think I would order once I got my computer up and online?
After sitting down and evaluating my experience, I decided not to get some work done here but decided that after that experience, I would vote with my money. So I got up and left, in order to give my business to another company down the street.
A few tips to the this establishment. Please make your customers feel welcomed in your place of business beginning from the moment we enter. And please don't make them feel like a burden. We are the...
Read moreModern, simple and seems clean atmosphere. Their couch seems pretty severely stained. I tried starry night and banana cream pie inspired shaken espresso. I also tried the banana cream pie espresso for to go. The large drink for to go seems smaller and in to go cup. I wasn't too impressed with the service. Their baristas seems very friendly with a wonderful smile. However, if you order drinks for to-go, their customer service do not include the lid. My to-go order drink was just sitting at the counter with no lid so I asked for a lid and they pointed at the cart. The to go cup lid is self-service at a cart with about 6 different stacks of lids next to the restroom. I felt awful trying out different lids and having to throw multiple lids away because I couldn't find the correct lid. Also, their barista service doesn't seem to include any request as I tried requesting no ice as I have sensitive teeth and can't drink such a cold drink but my request was denied as the drink comes with ice. The two drinks I tried are very delicious but I wouldn't recommend this place for those who needs any request to make changes to their drinks. Also, I wouldn't recommend this place if you're on a quick coffee/tea pick-up run as you may need to take some time to find a lid fit for your...
Read moreEspresso tonic all year round, rotating seasonal flavors providing a variety of options. Coffee is nice + strong, tasty on its own, complementing the tonic without overpowering syrup flavors.
Relatively cheap (5 for 12oz espresso tonic, 50cents for syrup, etc). Their pastries are big for price, especially the fruit danishes.
Baristas are very friendly. Nicely arranged space with a decent amount of tables, a couch, plus benches + table outside too. The wide space + the way tables are set up allows for a lot of conversation to be going on without overwhelming. I like the butterfly logo.
My only criticisms: sometimes there's only one barista + I think that's too much strain for the workers. Also, I love the pastries, but I do think they should be kept in closed container. I know it's routine for coffee shops to keep pastries in containers with the back end open. I still buy them + they're delicious (+again, I know this is the norm for coffee shops, I just personally wish it wasn't- but I'll...
