So many good things about this property. My hope is that after the upcoming renovations (April-November 2024), things will improve.||The Good:|Convenience to the gondolas - Just a quick walk across the street.|Ski storage at the base - Be sure to tip the staff. They are all friendy.|Starbucks on the first floor.|Valet staff were all great, if we could track them down.|Free shuttling to town - also a bad.|Note that we did not utilize the spa (one rough robe in the room), the pool, the fitness center, the lobby restaurant, but it was great that they were all here in the same building.|Our room had a nice view and we could see the gondola lines.||The Bad:||At check-in, we weren’t really given much information about resort amenities. There was a hard-to-find postcard in the room with a QR code that gave a little more information but it would have been nice to have been given “pointers” when we arrived. Desk staff were nice but probably hadn’t been given much instruction.||Coffee machine in the room was ok. No instructions but we kind of figured out how to make bad coffee. There were a couple of packets of sugar, non-dairy creamer, stir sticks. As much as I hate Keurigs, it would have been nice to have one in the room.||I blame this on being understaffed but whenever we tried to call the valet desk to get our car, the phone just rang and rang. The two or three people on duty were always running cars to and from or delivering bags to rooms. It would be nice if the phones rolled to someone at the front desk.||Cleaning services - The one day we took the door sign off to get the room cleaned up, we returned to see that the bed was made, the trash was emptied, and the well-worn towels were replaced. (Maybe they are waiting until after the above mentioned renovation to turn the towels into rags.) The damp floor mat was left behind and the sinks were not cleaned at all - maybe that isn’t part of the service? I only noticed because I remember accidentally dropping some lotion on my way out and it was still in the sink when I returned.||Bathrooms were motel-quality. Shower heads could use some updating. No amenities in case you forgot something.||While it was nice to have a mini-kitchen 36-inches away from the bed (NOT), we always had to fight over the one fork if we did have anything to eat in the room.|Our room could have used better lighting for reading in bed but maybe nobody else cares.||While it is great that the resort offers a free shuttle service, the app is not optimal. Getting into town was easier because we could just wait in the lobby. Getting a ride back, was not as dependable and next time we will use Uber/Lyft. One night at 7:14 pm, I requested a ride on the shuttle and was notified that it would be a 20 minute wait. When it got closer to 8 minutes, we walked to the pick up stop in case the app hadn’t refreshed and the driver was closer. We saw one van drive toward the resort but figured we would be on the next one. The next van drove by us and waved and came back 10 minutes later. It took closer to 40 minutes to be picked up. We realize that it is a free service but I would warn people that if you are planning to come back after dinner and it is freezing outside, just use a ride service app.||It seems that this is the kind of place that multiple families will come to and let the kids sleep in their own rooms. A couple nights there were a lot of pre-teens running back and forth to rooms, slamming doors, screaming & giggling. I didn’t say anything because they were having fun but I don’t think any parents were around. Maybe the parents were out having fun, too. This is the type of behavior I have seen when traveling with my kids to soccer tournaments and staying at Hilton Garden Inns or Marriott Residence Inns. After a long day of skiing, I would prefer quieter surroundings so we probably won’t be back.||The Ugly:||Nothing too ugly. There are some tweaks to be worked out and I assume a lot has to do with seasonal staff and lack of training. The resort has a lot of potential but it will...

Pets NOPE 👎 SO I left puppy and my nephews while visiting Ft Collins. I decided to extend my visit with my family and take a little road trip to steamboat and I am so glad that I did. It is a wonderful little town. I had a fantastic time.
Location - excellent! Close to lots of fun stuff… if I were staying in steamboat I would either stay right Downtown or in this location if I were going to be snowboarding! There was a really good bike rental place nearby downstairs and a couple of great restaurants. This is at the base of the mountain that has the lifts up to the top for the sunset Happy Hour THAT I MISSED boo 😒 bc it wasn’t going on Thursday’s only Sunday.
Food/Drink - great bar and they have a little store coffee shop on site that had lots of stuff. I wish in ate more then breakfast BECAUSE my BK was so great 😀 I loved it bacon / biscuits and gravy all cooked perfectly and the bar was good and open late bc of the conference going on.
Rooms… ok meh 🫤 I can say for the price I paid I super scored bc I paid 198.00 for a 5-700 or more a night room but I was there off season on a Tuesday/ Wednesday. It probably goes for 1200.00 during season. It was very very clean and had a cabin feel to it.
I liked the Coffee Service and I thought the closet space was great. It was a one bedroom condo. I liked the bathroom and I thought that amenities were all satisfactory but nothing really blew me away. I especially hated the TV situation because a resort like this, not to have any streaming like you can’t have any Netflix or anything like that, but I don’t know. I guess it wasn’t that big of a deal in hindsight.
Business center : there really isn’t one??? I had to work while I was there and I was really disappointed for resort of this size not to have anywhere to work. There was a little Eating / dining area off of the coffee shop little store thingy, but it was very uncomfortable 😣
Internet : I had absolutely no problems with the Internet during my stay. It was very fast and efficient.
Shuttle: they had a great on-site shuttle that you could download an app and just have the shuttle take you wherever you wanted to go pretty much. It goes I think from like 10 to 10 at night or maybe 10 to 9 I also got an Uber one night and it came really fast.
Wine store downstairs around the corner: man I wish I knew about this. I only discovered it on my second night and there’s a really really great wine store with a good selection.
Fun Things I did :
I took a balloon trip that was fantastic. I loved it and couldn’t recommend it anymore and the location is about seven minutes from the hotel. It’s a must do.
I rented an electric bike and rode that Downtown and went shopping and visited some happy hours along the river and that was an exceptional day. I loved it and I discovered this restaurant that was my favorite restaurant there of all the restaurants called Laundry, I live in Newport Beach CA - if this was in my neighborhood I would be a frequent flyer lol!!
Riverside Restaurants/Happy Hour: This city does a proper happy hour lol all the restaurants participate and I especially enjoyed visiting all of the restaurants along the river! My fav was E3 chophouse - the outside was really beautiful 🤩
Hat Store: I know random right!! “Steamboat Hatter” … I’ve never wanted a hat more than the hats I saw in the store and on their Instagram page, but to custom order one it takes about three months they do have a lot of stock and a lot of options in store. It was just kind of pricey and I wasn’t prepared to sell out all that cash, but I feel like a hat from this place is on my list of things to do in my life lol…
I also stayed an extra night at a cheap motel that I really loved in downtown too that allows pets I would probably stay at next time I visit.
OVERALL:
grateful to have stayed at such a nice place during the Fall, the place was great and one thing I forgot to mention is that all of my interactions with the staff were exceptional and that goes a long...
Read moreWe just left our stay here and had a ridiculously bad experience. First the water in the hotel was bad the entire time we were there - it was completely yellow every time we tried filling the bath. It looked like urine. We asked at the front desk and were told because they’d been closed for 3 weeks it just needed to be run for 5 minutes and that would clear it. No problem, we understand. The blinds also broke that night so we couldn’t see out our patio - they sent someone to fix them but we had to monkey around with them to open them. We filled the bath 4 times the first night and it was still yellow. I recently had surgery and was too tired to try it again but was extremely disappointed not to be able to relax in the bath. I’ve been taking one daily since surgery and after a long drive that’s all I wanted. The next morning we tried it yet again - same thing. So we asked the front desk again and they said they’d clear it out while we were gone. We came back that afternoon and it was the same. The tub and shower were unuseable and we asked repeatedly to speak to a manager and there was never one on duty we could speak to. The bathroom fan also did not work. The last night we could not open the blinds to our patio at all, and on the final day the front desk still refused to let us speak to a manager (we’d been down to ask to speak to one every single day we were there - 3 days - and every day there was an excuse why we couldn’t) . Additionally - my husband is an amputee and they put us in the furthest room away from the front desk - literally as far as you can get. This makes no sense when the hotel is empty - to put a disabled guest with trouble walking as far away from everything as possible. This is Hotel Management 101. We asked to have the manager call us every day as well and that also never happened. The girl at the front desk was extremely rude and not accommodating at all - we needed towels to go to the hot springs one day so asked if we could get some pool towels. The girl working said the pool wouldn’t allow us to take them (this was after I’d explained the non-useable water issue and my husband unable to make the trek down there yet again). Rather than offer to get us room towels she let me go all the way back up to my room to get towels to take with us! Zero help. That evening we called the restaurant to place an order and after not being able to get through called the front desk and were told their phones weren’t working and we’d have to go down to place the order. The front desk is literally right next to the restaurant, they can’t ask the restaurant to contact us or even place the order for us?! I wasn’t feeling well and my husband is disabled! So my husband went down on his crutches. Unbelievable . I will update if this is resolved but we absolutely do not recommend, this was an absolute joke.
*Update- a manager did call us and apologize and compensate for our inconvenience. While that’s nice and we appreciate it we personally won’t be back. Those reading this can do what they want. Not sure how this hotel is still open. They are not customer service oriented in the least and we should have done a better job reading reviews - this isn’t an isolated incident. We do appreciate them compensating us however as it was the right thing to do. However, our anniversary...
