Perricone's A Soup & Sandwich Joint — Restaurant in Fox Lake

I have eaten here many times and I'm always impressed with the service, cleanliness and quality of food. I'm a sub-guy and have had subs from every major chain, many small sub shops and even the local grocery store! This is by far the best.

When I'm craving a sub I somehow find my way to the shop and usually order either the Italian American or the Paisano. We must pay homage to the great Italian meats that they put on this sandwich. Speaking from experience and being Italian American, my family makes their own sausage, sopressata and bread, so I have a good handle on what a sub should be and this place fills the craving! I can put down the big sub, but it is substantial :)

I have had the Panini's and many of the specialty items on the menu as well, including the home-made soups. If you're looking to expand your food cravings from just your ordinary sandwich shop, this is the place to go.

Today I went way off course and got the tuna salad sub, which I'm not sure is even on the menu, but that is what I asked for. It brought back memories of when I used to order them as a teacher before giving lessons. It was stuck in my mind all day and today that is what I wanted to try. I was so disappointed to enter and see that not one person working was wearing a mask. Some of the employees made a vague effort to pull up their masks as i arrived but still kept them under their nose. It doesn't matter if the owners believe in the virus or not, they should be taking the precautions seriously to make sure every customer that comes through their doors is comfortable. I am in contact with several high risk individuals on a regular basis and will not come here again because it is obvious they are not taking precautions seriously. It is also disappointing to see that there have been several similar reviews over the past months. At a time when business are being hit so hard i would love to continue supporting small, local business but, not when they clearly don't care about the wellbeing of the people supporting them. Working in food preparation, they should be taking all sanitary precautions...

What a great find! Excellent Soups and even better Sub Sandwiches! The Owners are so nice and friendly I am sure I talked there ear off lol . The Chef Owner makes the soups and is so passionate and proud of his soups! I also am a Chef and I think he is awesome! The Owners make a great team and are so nice. I like that they offer samples of the soups which is unique and makes you want more. Today they had Ginger & Carrot and Chicken Tortilla which both are Supreme Quality and homemade from scratch daily. I had the #1 "Perricone's way" Which is similar to " Mike's Way" at Jersey Mikes but they put on a mild hot relish that makes it better! Plus quality meats and cheeses are no match! I had the Tortilla soup which was outstanding. What a great find and they have a new customer I will be back often! I would recommend this place to anyone so please stop by and give it a try.
