Cook Out — Restaurant in Frankfort

We visited today during the lunch rush and went inside to eat. There were two employees at the register, a young guy in the cash only line and a woman in the card line. While we were waiting for our order to be taken, another woman employee came up to the woman at the register. She was finishing up the customer at the register while the woman I’m assuming to be the manager began to berate her over making a mistake. I only heard bits and pieces, but it seemed to be over her ringing up some sort of cheese incorrectly. The manager was pretty close to her face and telling her things like “I have told you this multiple times” and other things that I wasn’t able to catch. The cashier was apologizing and saying she was still learning. Although I couldn’t get the full context of the conversation, I could tell how hostile the manager was toward the employee. I don’t know if this employee was new or not, but whether she’s worked there for years or days, no one should be ridiculed like that, ESPECIALLY in front of customers. As she took my order, I could tell how upset she was and I felt awful watching the interaction. I told her to try not to let it get to her, as I had overheard some of what was said to her. I actually was so shocked that the situation didn’t sink in until later. I wish I would have said something as I was there witnessing the interaction. The woman who was yelled at starting crying and was holding back tears as she continued to take orders. So not only was an employee yelled at over something fairly trivial, now she is having to continue to serve customers while crying and trying to keep it together. I cannot imagine working at a place where the manager enjoys humiliating you in front of customers. Any decent manager would hold a private conversation to discuss any problems that come up. Seems like a very hostile and toxic work environment.

Went there the other night and ordered a burger and fries, before I could finish my order the lady Candace told me the total. I said I’m not done I need to order more items. She clearly says OMG in the rudest voice. I said excuse me and a gentleman by the name Maleek took over and was very professional. I get to the window and she’s just staring me down she goes to open the window and I said there was no reason to act like that I was not the one who made you hate your life that night. But she lies to my face and said she said something totally different. The gentleman Maleek had to tell her to walk away because she seemed to want to jump out the window and kick my butt I guess. They handed me my food and I drive off. I get all the way home to realize that she only gave me half my order. I check the receipt to confirm what I ordered. The check only said $8.72 but my notification from my bank popped up saying they charged my card like $17. I had to drive all the way back to get the other half of my food. Should have just cut my losses and went to bed hungry. Food tasted like it was old and both burger was burnt to a crisp but still pink on the inside and fries were so cold and soggy me and the wife just threw it away. First bad experience I’ve had there since they came to town. They lost me as a customer for good. Obviously she needs better training especially if she’s gonna be on drive thru at a restaurant that’s backed up to the road almost 7...

It was our first time there and other than my son's hot dog which looked like it had been sitting for a bit every thing was great. We didn't complain about the hot dog my son wasn't really hungry so we didn't want a replacement. So that's why the minus one outta 5. The rest of the food was crazy good ! We heard three other tables talking while we waited on food about how great the shakes and BBQ was so when we got our food we were really happy that every thing said was true. It's very mom and pop meets country diner type atmosphere. I loved the staff that we did meet they were polite and seemed to be enjoying the job. The person that took our order was great he was super funny and very helpful in his suggestions instead of the buy this cause my boss said so kind of sale pitch. We are new to this area no friends yet or family in the area so this is not a friend of a friend kinda post. We were super pleased and very full when we left.
