Denny's — Restaurant in Frederick

On Sunday, my family and I embarked on a three-hour drive back home and decided to stop at Denny’s for a meal. Upon arrival, we waited approximately 15 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we were handed menus, but that was the extent of the service we received. Despite the waiter attending to other tables, refilling drinks and engaging with customers around us, we were left entirely unacknowledged. We waited for an additional 20 to 30 minutes with no further interaction, at which point we decided to leave.

The most frustrating part of the experience was the utter lack of communication from our waiter, who didn’t even offer an explanation or apology for the delay. My aunt, attempting to inquire about the situation, was told by another staff member that the waiter was the only one serving that section. However, when we were about to leave, the same staff member suddenly offered to take our order, asking us to wait for just a moment. By that point, we had already made the decision to leave and declined her offer.

The inconsistency and lack of professionalism were staggering, particularly since the restaurant was not busy, and the other diners were already being served their meals. This experience, marked by neglect and poor customer service, was deeply disappointing and left a lasting negative impression. Usually love Denny's. It's always my favorite quick diner! Last time I went I was very disappointed. It was probably around 10:00 a.m. Makes me question if I want to go back anytime soon. The entire time servers, chef and staff were bickering, arguing and shouting at each other. One of my friends tried ordering waffles. We were told they were out of waffles? How are they out of waffles? But they had pancakes? That didn't make sense to me. Could they not make waffle batter but they can make pancake batter? So he had to different, he ordered an omelet. When we got our food he got an egg sandwich instead? Not even close to what he ordered! We did make it aware to the waitress that's not what he ordered and she just said sorry and walked away. Didn't do anything to try to compensate the mistake or even offered to bring out the correct order, even after not having what he originally wanted to order available. After eating and we went up to pay we stood there for a while just waiting for someone to actually go to the register so we can pay to get out of there after a bad experience. Went to dennys at 8 am for breakfast. Only 2 of us. Got seated right away which was great. Got drinks right away which was great. While ordering food i ordered plain scrambled eggs, the waitress asked if i wanted cheese added. My mom ordered eggs bacon and toast. The waitress told her she was trying to make a BYO meal, and gave her about 5 different options on what else to add. Fruit cup being one of them. I said sure to cheese since it was offered and my mom said fruit. We got our food in a timely manor and were very pleased as of this point. Then we werent getting checked on if we needed anything due to there only being 1 waitress for the entire restaurant. Waitress finally came back over and gave us our bill where we were charged an extra .49 cents for fruit and .69 cents for cheese. As I realize thats not a lot or anything however we should have been told when she offered the items that there was an upcharge. My mom mentioned it while trying to pay for the meal and she said just said "well its included but they charge extra." And walked away before my mom had the chance to say anything else. Very...
