I did not enjoy myself. My spouse was okay with it.
Pros: The decor was fun. LGBTQ flags abound. There is a rack of games you can play during your stay. There are beavers of all kinds incorporated into the decor. You'll see a photo of my favorite with rainbow sunglasses. We found a table/chairs and checked the QR code for what to order. My spouse walked to the bar to order the drinks - no line, no wait.
Cons: This is a cement box of an establishment. As soon as we arrived, the noise from the Loud Talkers at the bar boomed through the place. It did not get quieter. I got a tequila drink, my husband got a glass of Zinfandel. My beverage was UNDRINKABLE. It was as if someone poured a cup of lime juice into my glass and added triple sec & tequila. I drank a third of it and went to the bar to get some simple syrup added. The bartender explained that they make the mix for the cocktails daily and they didn't have anything behind the counter to change it's taste. No offer to make something different, even after I said that it was undrinkable. I ended up getting the "swamp" something-or--another with rum and drank half of it. My spouse said his Zinfandel was "meh."
Between the LOUD conversationalists, the unsupportive bartender and the below par drinks I cannot recommend this establishment.
On the other hand, the food we got from Fifty-Fifty located in the same building was fantastic. See my review of Fifty-Fifty...
Read moreThe space is fun, albeit warm. We did not find the space to be very inviting though.
We have been to Thrift on Market Day twice. Each time there were some neat artists with some interesting hand made things. I bought a cool engraved spoon from one, I wish I could have afforded some of the art right now! 'Thrift' is kind of misleading, the clothing is more like curated thrift store finds, so more expensive than one night expect. The non-clothing vendors were mostly creators.
On our second trip one of the vendors was very rude and passive aggressive about us standing in the corner. We were trying to be out of the way but apparently they did not like us standing in front of their racks (it was busy so there wasn't a lot of space to be), By the time they directly told us what was bothering them a guy, it seemed a friend of theirs, was loudly making degrading comments about us. We left and spent our money at the record store which was nice and cool, and we were able to chat and peruse without... Whatever that was.

Read moreFlavorful Brews This brewery seems to specialize in unique flavors of beer. I tried the "Solar Flare", its bottled but brewed on site. A dark but rather tart beer. I also had the Matriarch Bourbon Barrell-Aged Limited Release. It was very stouty. Something I will try again. I find I am liking the "barrell-aged" beers offered in this town. Then I tried the (something) 86. It comes canned but is also brewed there. A cloudy IPA and enjoyable. There is no restaurant but sometimes a food truck parks nearby. Otherwise it can be some distance to walk to a restaurant. Plenty of room in the back, ask them to show you the equipment. Clean restrooms. Special lighting in the bar sets a comfortable mood. Dart boards available in the back, bring your darts. Entertainment, probably nightly. Across from a fire station, you can enjoy seeing the trucks park. A security issue: my first visit, coming out alone at 9pm, I was briefly followed and challenged by a large male. I would suggest avoid the area...
