Here and Abroad is my absolute favorite sandwich and bakery shop in Fredericksburg. The croissants are to die for, specifically the chocolate, almond, and raspberry. The salads are fresh and delicious and the sandwiches never disappoint. Perna, the owner, is always personable, friendly, and ready with a smile. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! It's a small space, so if you have more than one or two dining companions, getting your order to go is wise. The food was exceptional and the person on staff (possibly the owner) was really cool with our difficult group. We had 2 little kids (ages 1.5 and 3) and 4 adults. They only had a small single row of 2 seater tables so we really had no business eating there but he had an awesome attitude about accommodating us and in dealing with the kids. Would definitely go back but would keep in mind the space limitations on my next visit. This hidden gem is a must visit. I stumbled upon this place by accident but i am so glad i went in. The owner is super friendly and welcoming. The place is quaint and cozy. They offer a great selection of baked goods and lunch foods too. I got a turkey, bacon cheese sandwich on a croissant and it was delicious. Also got a hot coffee and a chocolate croissant after and those were just as good that i ended up buying some croissants and chocolate croissants to bring home.
