The server was very sweet and efficient and professional, and the food came out quickly. This restaurant is very clean, including the bathroom. For a starter I ordered the soup of the day, which was chicken and rice with a side of cornbread The chicken and rice soup was excellent and well flavored, but at $8 a bowl a bit too steeply priced to order again. The accompanying cornbread was flaky and tender, but it was grilled giving it an off sort of old oil on the grill flavor. I ordered meatloaf with vegetable of the day and a side of fried macaroni and cheese. The meatloaf was tender and flavorful, and the grilling added a seared and someone smoked quality that reminded me of brisket. But for me, the meatloaf was way too loose and bordering on mushy. I prefer a bit more of a bite to my meatloaf while retaining its tenderness. The portion was small and overall just not enjoyable. The big downfall with the meatloaf was the giant glob of ketchup on top that if I had not removed would have completely overwhelmed the flavor of the actual meatloaf. I don't think ketchup should be ladled on like gravy, and should be a thin coating on top that's caramelized in the oven. And maybe a side of ketchup for those who like it. Just my opinion. The broccoli that came with it was perfectly cooked but had absolutely no seasoning, so I had to hit it with the salt for the crunchy effect afterwards which is not too pleasant. Fried mac and cheese was okay, but again not seasoned. I had to sprinkle the salt again. All in all it filled my stomach as I waited for rush hour to pass, but at a total tab of $27 it was ridiculous. I am not exaggerating when I say Golden corral is better for the items that I received, and two of us could have dined on all we could eat for the price of this one meal.

Overall, my first visit was okay. I was born and raised in this area but never stopped to eat here until this week. I've always heard good things, but I was underwhelmed by the food. It was just okay. On a side note, be mindful this is a small restaurant, so there is limited seating, and you may have to wait. Luckily, they have a texting system, so you can wait in your car or take a stroll down the street. The dishes we ordered need work. 3 dishes ordered were the Breakfast Club, Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit Sandwich, and the Big Breakfast Burrito. For starters. I wouldn't call the Burrito "Big", just say Breakfast Burrito. This is an item that was considered popular and helped put them on the map. The taste was flavorful, but more filling in the burrito was needed. The sour cream was missing on the plate, and I believe the tortilla needed a better treatment to crisp and brown it some. The presentation was so plain. Secondly, the special of the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich was plain all around with its lack of hot honey, plain tasting chicken, and lack of anything to bring it together. The chicken really needed seasoning, and since they were out of Biscuits, they replaced it with a waffle, which, after tasting it, seemed more preferable. Lastly, the Breakfast Club has a lot of potential. It needs more and a better flavorful cheese. It just needs some work, a drizzle of something, a better tasting egg...the taste is almost there. We don't want to order those dishes again, but we did feel a desire to return and try other dishes.

If you're looking for an inviting atmosphere with reasonable prices in relation to proportions- this is your spot! The Mason-Dixon Cafe is absolutely wonderful in every way. They have something that caters to everyone, whether it be keto-friendly, vegetarian, or eccentric eater. With an expansive menu, and the ability to order breakfast all day, your group (or date!) will certainly be pleased after their visit. During my visit, I ordered the Chicken & Biscuits and Gravy and loved it so incredibly much; the chicken was obviously fresh fried, the biscuits were the perfect complimentary texture, and the gravy was absolutely delicious. After placing the order we probably only waited 10-15 minutes, which was a huge plus and clued me into the level of detail and care they put into crafting their dishes. Our waitress was attentive without being smothering, and made sure we had ample napkins and our beverages never completely emptied. All in all, a wonderful experience and I greatly look forward to my return! (Perhaps even as soon as tomorrow 😅) Huuuuge shout-out to whomever was in control of the music as well, major points for the lovely tunes we enjoyed during our visit.

W.O.W!!! This place!!!! You must visit!!! I was on a business trip and worked close by. Passed by more than 10 times during my stay until I did my usual food around me, searching on Google maps, of course. I was shocked it had 2400 reviews at 4.5 rating at the time I searched it up! I had to see for myself. My friend and I originally planned for all you can eat sushi until I stumbled upon this place, and we were literally 0.1 miles away. The best part about this place and I'm hoping I spell her name correctly, Krystal, had introduced me to my new favorite beer although she is not a beer person! Impending Doom 9.6% I love my IPA. And to top it off, their entrées were worth the wait. It did take a bit longer than expected, but not too long. My only minor complaint is that for this big place, they only have one person bathroom, which if you are dining during rush hour, good luck.... Overall, 5 star review. Most interesting conversation throughout my dinner, I had told my friend that human beings are capable of learning 14 different languages. Krystal thought she definitely cannot herself, but she believes that we are all capable for sure. It's never too late people!

During our last summer break trip before school started, I decided to take my kids for a quick overnight getaway to an AirBnB with a pool in Fredericksburg. We had a blast, and in the morning I did a quick search for the best rated breakfast spots on our way back home. I ran into this place, and after reading the reviews decided to give it a chance. I can absolutely say this was the best decision. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches, one with white bread and another on a croissant and a side of waffles and OJ. Opening the container alone gave me the biggest smile because it looked so delicious! I LOVED my sandwich and it was perfectly put together. To this day I recommend this place to anyone who is willing to go for a quick trip. I live about 1.5 hours away and recently made the trip out there with my son and his friends just for breakfast (that’s how you know it’s good!). Writing about it now is giving me flashbacks and plan to make any excuse to visit again soon. This place is a must!

Update: I drove 40 minutes for the Naughty Pork Chop, which was listed under Entrees. It was a sandwich! I was so disappointed when it came to the table. I don’t eat sandwiches. Also, the pork chop was boneless, which I would have assumed if it was properly listed under sandwiches. I don’t like boneless pork unless I’m eating schnitzel. Also, the egg was not runny. Although the server said they have told the owner on more than one occasion that this should be listed as a sandwich, I still couldn’t justify removing a star. Overall, it was still pretty good. I still recommend. Come hungry! This was my first time here. The size of the meals that passed by me were huge! The pancakes are the size of a full dinner plate. I had chicken and waffles. The chicken was so crispy and good, though I had to sprinkle salt. They can customize your waffle to blueberry or chocolate chip. I had blueberry. They were good but could have been crispier. Overall, a very good experience. I will return….soon.
