Good Thai food, but BYO to-go box! (2/5 green stars) Need to get take out in Fremont and Le Moose seemed like the best spot in the area. I got my staple Thai dish, pad see-ew with tofu. Would normally expect vegetarian version to be cheaper than meat version, but it was the same price ($11). It was well made – one of the better versions of the dish that I’ve had, although it was a bit too salty. Most of the staff members were friendly and the café is pretty and cheerful.
I'm also giving them 2/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • I asked for the food to be packaged in one of their cardboard boxes but she misunderstood and put it in a plastic container instead and offered me a cardboard box to go with it! I declined the box and it was too late to do anything about the plastic. It turned out to be made of polystyrene – pretty much the worst type of packaging for food to go (non-recyclable, high carbon-footprint, and made from a toxic monomer). I don’t often get take out but need to start carrying a box in my car for situations like this. • She was about to place the plastic box in a thick plastic bag, which I declined. Weird, because they have a notice at the cash register about plastic bags being banned in Alameda County. • They also provided three (!) plastic utensils to go with the food (which I returned). • No information provided on food sourcing. • Note to staff: please ditch the Styrofoam and thick...

Super friendly when we came to pick up, I walked in with my 3-year-old and the woman was so kind to us both. Pick up was easy and the atmosphere made you feel like you'd been a customer for years even though it was our first time! I said thank you on my way out and they all waved and said thank you back. I say thank you in a lot of places and it's been a long time since I felt such genuine gratitude in return.
Ordered crab fried rice, duck curry (red), and satay chicken, all delicious! Was a bit disappointed the fried rice didn't come with any vegetables in it and the crab was shredded, but the menu was clear about that, besides the flavor was excellent and will likely order again!Tiny bit of shell though, so just don't chew too fast. The red curry was a nice amount of spicy-creamy balance, although there wasn't a lot of meat, I didn't care 'cause I could hardly stop eating it... and the peanut sauce that came with the chicken satay was incredible! Will definitely ask if I can get extra next time because the flavor of the chicken with the sauce was just exceptional.
Overall wonderful experience and wonderful people. Will be...
Read moreFirst time eating here, just picked it from online posts. I can't speak for crepes or anything other than what I ordered which was:
Pad Thai with chicken Basil Eggplant with ground Pork
The pad thai was very flavorful and the portion was generous, in the picture it's all noodles under the bean sprouts....I LOVED IT. In SF and the peninsula, the noodles usually end where the bean sprouts are which is bummer because noodles are so inexpensive. Everyone has different preferences so I'll say it was on the wetter/saucier side so if light sauce and a drier version is what you like you might not be so enthusiastic. The fried tofu they used was good, unlike many places that use overly fried tofu that's chewy and hard. The chicken was mostly minced which is good because many place just give you bland sliced white meat which doesn't have much flavor and is just not very appetizing.
The Basil Eggplant was also generous and delicious. This place is not anywhere near me and I'd have to drive across the bay to eat there yet here I am thinking about the dishes I had. I have been eating Thai food for over 45 years around the bay, for a modest and simple place they made me very happy. I would absolutely eat...
