Unrefined Bakery — Restaurant in Frisco

This bakery has delicious cakes, but the Owner Ann is very aggressive and hostile. I had the misfortune of ordering a cake during a period of turnover, resignations of cake decorators, and shuffling of employees. My cake order was started by one employee, and should have had a follow up by him. Instead the owner contacted me after demoting the manager who initially assisted me. She was highly aggressive, and cocky at the start of the conversation. I asked for a PlayStation cake, and she did not relay the correct information to the decorator. I was given an Xbox cake cake, and when I asked for the correction to be made she said I needed to pay more money. I shouldn’t be asked to pay to make corrections to a mistake which was not my fault. The employees were more than happy to make the correction, but the owner objected. She spent more time on the phone being rude, and sarcastic. She apologized by saying “ I’m sorry we couldn’t please you. I hope you find a new bakery that makes cakes to your satisfaction.” I’ve been patronizing this business since 2012 in Dallas. This woman seems angry, and unhappy. I guess that makes two of us. My son wanted a PlayStation cake, and I paid for something I never requested. Also when I went to pick up my cake, the order form was “missing”. The staff who assisted me were confused as to why. I can only speculate. Any who. This bakery is great, but one of the Owners has too much pride, and arrogance. I would like a refund, but I was told they would scrape the cake and resell it. This bakery provides SCRUMPTIOUS baked goods for various types of food allergies. I am gluten free and absolutely everything I have tried from here is absolutely amazing. If you gave someone a cupcake from here and didn't let them know that it was free of anything specifically, they would think it was a regular cupcake. The staff is so friendly and amazing and will answer all your questions. I spoke with Julia recently and she is such a sweetheart, she let me try all their samples they had, answered all of my questions and was very very knowledgeable about their products. I wanted to buy one of everything! I even learned of this is such a dedicated gluten-free that they don't even allow anything that contains gluten inside of it. I was just going to go in for one cupcake but walked out with more and I am already planning my next trip. For someone that just gave up gluten two weeks ago, it's so nice to find baked goods that I can still enjoy and are simply delicious. I bake a lot myself so I do feel like I am a little bit more critical than most people as far as when I taste a baked treat. Unrefined has definitely mastered the art and science of what they do passionately do, and I can definately taste the Love and dedication to their craft. I mean, i just tried a vegan cupcake that tasted better then any "regular" cupcake I've tried... I can go on forever.... and I'm just so glad there's an option for people like me with dietary restrictions. They also have Paleo, Keto, Vegan and Dairy-Free...

You know I've seen a lot of negative reviews on here and I just hate how shallow some people can be! These are the kind of people that like to write negative reviews about everybody and like to get on next door and be arrogant and put people down. I just don't get it.

Here's the facts: the food is going to have different textures and different flavors than what most people are accustomed to because it is made and processed differently. I hear these things from people constantly trying to compare them to Krispy Kreme and places like that. That's not how it works. I went in there and the people were nice and helpful as ever. They gave me a breakdown of the nutrition facts since I am eating low carb. I got several different products to surprise my fiancee with to congratulate her on her new job. All the products were great... And I got to sample several. We had the cookie sandwich pumpkin pie and pecan pie...all keto. The manager was great and he took his time to walk me through the menu.

Some of these reviews are absolutely ridiculous and I think people have too much time on their hands. I don't think they realize that writing awful reviews with no substance could possibly ruin a business and affect all the people that work there. This company is great and I look forward to returning and purchasing more of their products.
