We decided to eat a late lunch (2:00pm) today at The Cotton Patch Café. We always like their food when we are looking for comfort food. This place is never busy, and you are more likely to not have enough staff to wait than you are, waiting for a table. The location may be a significant factor affecting their performance, as other Cotton Patch Café locations have a higher customer volume. I am not fond of the location, but it is closest to where we live. The wife believes that their “chicken and dumplings” are among the best available at any restaurant. Overall, their food is good and reasonably priced. They charge too much for drinks, at over $3.00 per glass. Though they make some of the best homemade dinner rolls, they insult them by not serving them with real butter. Like having a slice of Pumpkin Pie with no Whipped Cream. It is good but there is something missing. The Margarine they serve is not even close to butter tasting, so if used, it ruins the rolls. This may be on purpose to curb the consumption rate of the rolls by customers, because with butter they would be spectacular. I have a suspicion that the margarine they serve is the same margarine they cook with. Typically, you would never confuse that stuff with real butter, but it is easier to cook with and less expensive. For the first time ever, I was disappointed in my order. I ordered Mimi’s Cajun Pasta. It was my fault, I did not pay attention, nor did I know what Cavatappi Pasta was. FYI, it is a curly round noodle, not the flat pasta usually served with Alfredo sauce. Let me just say the dish was good and a solid 4 but could have been a 5+ if served on Fettuccini Pasta or some other flat pasta. That was my fault. It is the only thing I have ever got there that I have been a little disappointed in. The wife got the Grilled Cajun Duo and was incredibly pleased with it. I can say it looked delicious. We always want dessert but never have space for it. I would give this Restaurant a 4.5 if I could but I will go with a 4 out of 5 stars. Bring the Iced Tea and drinks under $3.00 a glass, put drink condiments on the table instead of having to get a wait person to find some for you, and bring real butter for those wonderful dinner rolls and they will get 5+ from us, no doubt. We...
Read moreThe only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because of Samantha. Samantha was wonderful, super kind, and very helpful. To start I was waiting with my son to be sat at a table. My son and I are first in line, and there are 2 couples behind us. Amanda the waitress approaches and speaks directly to the couple behind me. She does not even acknowledge my presence, I intervene and tell her “we’re not together, it’s just me and my son”. She then says okay and takes us to a table far from her section, on the other side of the restaurant without telling the other waiter we were over there. I sat and watched her take the next 2 couples to their tables in her section, serve them drinks, and take their orders. Meanwhile nobody knows my son and I have been seated. After 20 minutes, I eventually have to ask one of the employees if I have a waiter, then 5-10minutes later my order was taken. I then decide to tell the manager what happened with Amanda, I then see the manager talking to the guy who took my order instead of Amanda. For some reason I get a new waitress, I didn’t mind though Samantha was great.
Update: called and Amanda picked up and put me on hold for over 20 minutes, I eventually called from my fiancé’s phone then she picked up. I asked for the restaurant manager, she gave the phone to one of the shift leads I’m assuming Is one of her friends. As I was telling her the situation she begins to invalidate me saying “I’m sure she didn’t mean to sit you over there” I had to interject and explain to her that after the 2 couples were seated, she then sat another couple in her section. The fact of the matter is Amanda purposely sat my son and I in a different section from 6 other people because she did not want to serve us for whatever reason. Amanda was unprofessional and rude bottom line. I will be calling back tomorrow to speak with the assistant or restaurant manager so that this can...
Read moreThis was my first and last time at this restaurant, terrible customer service and rude workers. The workers spend more time gossiping and complaining than helping customers.
I came in on 9/20/23 around 7:15pm to pick up an order and I went to the pickup area for online orders. There’s a lady who’s grabbing her order and talking to the worker who helped her and I wish I would’ve got her name to put in this review but she was a blonde heavy set lady, they’re chitchatting which is totally fine but about 15 mins go and by now me and the worker have made eye contact several times and she still continues to keep chitchatting with the lady about her personal life and how she works in a doctors office and gets yelled at over the phone by old people durning the day and then comes to work in the restaurant in the afternoons and gets yelled at by customers at this restaurant and just overall complaining about both places that she works at. Meanwhile I’m still waiting in line and another customer is now waiting in line, a second female worker who was short and thin comes from the kitchen area and looks at me and the other lady in line and just ignores us and joins the conversation between the blonde heavy set lady and “customer” which now I’m assuming they all know each other by the way the conversation was going. The heavyset blonde lady makes eye contact with me again and she walks away and heads to the bread station behind them meanwhile still participating in the conversation, finally after a couple more minutes the “customer” finally says goodbye to them both and leaves. I finally received help from the short and thin female worker who doesn’t bother to even say hello first but she gives me my order and I leave. I wish I would’ve got both the workers names because I would’ve mentioned them in this review they both were extremely rude and just provided...
