⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 – A Strong Start for a Promising New (Favorite) Spot
Last night, Jason took me to one of my favorite restaurants—Hudson House Frisco—for their second night of being open, and overall, it was a great experience. While no restaurant is expected to be 100% perfect in their first few days, we had a wonderful night that gave us every reason to come back.
Jason made reservations (probably not necessary just yet, but I love that he plays it safe), and we were seated immediately, greeted by three smiling faces. Madi was our server, and I already can’t wait to have her again—friendly, attentive, and just the right amount of fun.
We started with drinks: the Original Martini and a French 75—of course. Hudson House has always been my martini place, and I’m thrilled that hasn’t changed. (We even stopped somewhere else afterward for a nightcap, and let’s just say… I missed Hudson’s version dearly.) There was a small mix-up with the olives—his olives ended up on top of mine—but we laughed it off. Honestly, not a big deal, but could be an awkward moment on a first date or business dinner.
Our bill was pretty high - keep in mind date night and we had a few drinks each. Drinks vs dessert
Appetizers were chef’s kiss. We ordered a dozen Standish Shore oysters and could’ve easily eaten a hundred more—they were fresh, briny perfection. I ate mine with just lemon. The ahi tuna stack also came out beautifully and tasted just as good as it looked.
Now for the entrées—and this is where Jason and I had slightly different takes. He ordered the burger, which came highly recommended by friends. He thought it was “good” but not quite great. They didn’t ask for a preferred doneness, and one patty was slightly undercooked compared to the other, though he said that’s not uncommon. The pickle was a standout addition, and the truffle parmesan fries? A 12/10 from Jason. Possibly his new favorite fries in town.
I had the classic chicken parmesan, and I genuinely loved it. It was cheesy, flavorful, had the perfect kick, and now I’m craving it all over again. Jason wasn’t a big fan, but hey—that just means more for me next time.
One thing I want to mention—because I think some people out there will relate—we often feel like we’re being rushed when we go out to eat. Jason looks super young (lucky him!), and I totally understand from my own experience as a longtime bar manager and server that appearances can affect how guests are treated. But it still stinks feeling like you’re being sized up as a couple of high school kids barely scraping by, especially when you know you’re more than capable of covering the tab and just want to enjoy your night. We don’t get to do regular date nights because of our schedules, so when we do go out, it really matters to us. That said, we didn’t feel that way at Hudson House last night—which made the night even more special.
In short, Hudson House Frisco has all the right bones to become a favorite. Some small kinks to iron out (totally normal for a brand-new location), but the food, service, and vibe are all strong. We’ll definitely be back—especially for those oysters...

Excited to try this place out in Frisco TX. We will NEVER return. Walked in the door at 4:00 pm on a Friday, bar was full, however 95% of the tables were empty. As I was greeted by the 5 Hostesses, 1 primary and 4 teenagers, I assumed were being trained. This was my initial conversation:
I need a table for 3 ---Do you have reservation? Do I need a reservation? (The place is empty except for the bar) ---Are all the members of your party present? No but they will be here in 10 minutes ---(in a very rude and arrogant tone) Well, once they arrive, check back with me, and I will see if I have a table to seat you at. *STRIKE 1
Ah, so you you are one of those restaurants! If looks could kill, well, I would be dead. (if I wasn't waiting for the rest of my party, I would have said a few choice words and left)
So my party arrived 10 minutes later as previously stated, no one else was seated at any table during my wait.
We were all seated at a table in the bar area, which we requested. However, we later found out, Happy Hour prices only included being physically seated at the bar *STRIKE 2 and the table had not been cleaned! *STRIKE 3
The food was nothing special, a little pricey. They are known for the Worlds Coldest Martini, how do they make the coldest Martini's you ask, "you shake them vigorously for 45 seconds" Yes, that makes them cold, and also adds more water to the drink, so for $16 they were not very strong.
The Final Strike - We always get separate checks, so I pulled my credit card out for my check, and the others in my party always pay with cash. ---I'm sorry sir we not not accept cash here. Really, where is that posted? On the door, on a sign when you enter? --- No, but it is on the menu Would you please bring us a menu, so we can see for ourselves? --- Here you go So in the very bottom left had corner of the menu in a small font. "We do not accept cash" *STRIKE 4
The only pleasant experience we had while dining, was our waitress.
We did convey our thoughts to one of the Blue Suited Managers walking around, he thanked us for our truthfulness, and said he would relay the message to the...

When we arrived, a young lady at the front asked if we had a reservation. We said no, and she immediately told us they do not accept walk-ins and that the restaurant was “closed” to anyone without a reservation.
What truly bothered me was that there were plenty of open tables, no line, and no one waiting — yet we were completely blocked from dining there. She didn’t even offer us the option to wait for a table, which is standard courtesy at most restaurants, especially those of higher caliber.
This left me feeling discriminated against. Frisco is a diverse community, and in all our years dining at restaurants around Dallas, this has never happened to us before.
We were with family, ready to celebrate and support this business, but instead, we left feeling humiliated and unwelcome. I’m sharing this experience because no one should ever be treated this way, and I encourage others to report situations like this so they do not...
