Was honestly excited to see an honest to goodness kolache place in the area. I did arrive pretty late in the morning, so all the kolaches were gone, so ordered the brisket filled breakfast roll and the bacon egg to try.
When I asked where they get their brisket, Natalie the owner just answered âfrom our supplierâ. Excited and interested to know more, I asked if it was a bbq place nearby or if they smoke it themselvesâŠ. Same reply âfrom our supplierâ and seemed annoyed with the question. After an awkward moment, I decided to leave, but then decided to try it at least for a reviewâŠ.
She didnât want to serve me and instead sent her husband, who said âyou werenât very nice to my wifeâ. I said, no, I was nice, but she did not like the questions I was asking, explaining I love bbq and was just genuinely curious. He said they get their supplies from US Foods.
Honestly, the dough portion was delicious and perfect, but why, especially in Texas, someone would put mass produced brisket from one of the large restaurant suppliers into their offering is beyond me. Same with the bacons and eggâŠ. The eggs had the texture of hotel buffet breakfast eggs.
This was why I was asking in the first place. I shouldnât have patronized them with my business, both for the lack of quality of the food I ate but especially for the very not nice experience.
Again, no comment on the kolaches, which may be fantastic, but in Texas, brisket has standards and shouldnât be called brisket if it comes in a bag off the back of a big...

This review is mixed because I have been here several times and enjoyed (past tense) the kolaches, cinnamon rolls (especially these), and the sandwiches. However, today as I waited for my wife to meet me here for breakfast I watched the baker prepare the food. Now, this is going to get disgusting.
He walked to the cash register to talk to a customer, because the people are very friendly, but what he did with his hands has caused me to never eat here again.
I watched him wipe inside his nose several times with his fingers, wipe his face with his hands, and finally go to the back open a box with a box cutter, on the cooking surface, then proceed to working dough without ever washing his hands. DISGUSTING! Snot filled kolaches, cinnamon rolls, and sandwiches...no thank you. Then, he wipes inside his ears with a finger and starts putting kolaches on the pan to bake them.
I like my health too much to give in to this craving. I will find a new place today. That was just disgusting.
If you do not mind mucus in your food go on in, but I just wanted to share. I hate that I saw the nasty side of how the food at Kolache Heaven is made. I am going to miss those...
Read moreThe Meat Rolls are amazing! I've never been much of a "sweets for breakfast" kinda guy, so their assortment of pastry wrapped proteins are right up my alley. The sausage, egg and cheese meat roll is to die for. I regularly bring these puppies into the office whenever we have an early morning, or even worse, have to put in some weekend hours. They are a hit. They're certainly not for the faint of heart, as each roll weighs in close to a pound. Some of the more figure-conscious would be best splitting one of these bad boys with a friend.
With regard to the bakery's namesake, my wife and others tell me that the fruity kolaches are amazing as well.
Finally, there is one, often overlooked, item on their menu that should be taken into consideration when you're deciding how to sate your early morning hunger, and that's the Croissant-wrapped jalepeno poppers. That's right, a pickled jalepeno stuffed with cream cheese, and then wrapped in a croissant.
In summary, eat early and eat often because this is a family owned bakery and your favorites are only available as long as someone else hasn't eaten the last one. My personal favorite, the Sausage, egg and cheese meat roll is mighty scarce...
