UPDATE Oct 2022: Good to be back for soup and sandwich. We got one sandwich and split it and one of their soups. Good meal all around. Didn't take long to get it made as we beat the Sat lunch rush. Lots of take-out orders noticed. We will have to try the ones in Richardson next summer when we go to one of the summer band concerts put on by Richardson Community Band. And the new place in McKinney.UPDATE Mar 2022. In the mood for soup and sandwich today. Great service and better food. Lots of dining in customers and many take-outs while we were there. I posted new photos of customers eating in. Surprised it had been 13 months since we ate here last just after the awful Feb 2021 ice storm and sat at home for a week. Will try to get back sooner than later. UPDATE Feb 2021. Yes, they are open again after the terrible Feb ice storm. Our lunch visit was the first day open after being closed for a week. Still a bit chilly to eat outside on patio so we opted for indoor. Still practicing virus mitigation so its a safe place to eat. Most customers go for the take out. 1st visit May 2020 OooRah! Yes they are open during virus crises now with indoor seating; a bit limited now. Nice shade tree on patio so one can eat out there. Great 1st impression for this location and chain. Never eaten here before. Shields up btw you and counter and rail keeps one's distance when making...
Read moreI loved the Great Outdoors when I worked in Richardson off I75 eons ago, but it was always for lunch. Now I located this one in Frisco but they close at 630pm????? Whaaaaat? People are just getting off work between 5-6pm & with construction it takes 1.5hrs to sometimes 2hrs or more. I checked every other sub shop in a 20mi radius & only 1 closes at 830pm & the rest at 9pm or later. It's sight says it's extremely busy right now at 5pm. I could understand closing early Sun/Mon, helk even completely closing on Sundays but everyday??? I guess they weren't affected by the pandemic & don't need to recoup any losses during that time or it's a faith thing but SIX THIRTY??? Oy Ve'!! Maybe I'll be in the area around 1pm sometime but doubtful. Just can't wrap my head around it. I'm willing to drive 12mi if it's good food & I remember they were GREAT SUBS. Guess I'll keep driving to...
Read moreTried the Reuben with double meat. For $11.60. For the price it was not particularly great. First the bread was sub bread for the sandwich which in itself ok but the sub bread is very flat. Amount of meat and other toppings is minimal. Flavors are ok but nothing that tops as special.
Daughter had a turkey and cheese. Complained not enough cheese. I tried it and thought turkey tasted fine but again nothing special about the sandwich.
I would recommend Jersey mikes or subway over this place for a sub sandwich. I would never recommend the Reuben.
Customer service is friendly enough and atmosphere is fun I guess but not real sure what they are trying to show with pictures of mountains and shore like decor.
Overall 2.5 out of 5. To improve bread would need to be higher quality and sandwich’s need...
