DL Campus Coffee & Ice Cream on Main — Restaurant in Front Royal

Quaint and comfy coffee shop with unique drinks and typical light fare, at the expected price (which is somewhat expensive). You can really feel and see the shop’s intentionality in wanting you to be there and enjoy it. My drink, the horchata latte, was very good and enjoyable, although I don’t think I can attest to how high quality it was because I got it extra sweet, as I do most coffee (I know, a heinous crime in the coffee world). The service was fine - I noticed that they brought food out to the customers, which is awesome. However, as I was waiting at the front of the line for five minutes just to get the Wi-Fi password so I could get to a meeting I was already late to, the only employee working behind the counter at the time thought it would be better to make the previous customer’s latte before even saying hello. This made me frustrated, I’ll be honest, not just because all I wanted was the Wi-Fi password, but because it would have been much more efficient to take the orders of the only two customers in line, and then make the orders, instead of making one customer wait for another’s order to be done. Still, I also personally loved how obviously Christian they were, and I could tell by their events that they were invested in the community. I also think it’s cool that they serve ice cream, although I can’t imagine that’s very profitable for them, given that there are multiple other ice cream shops in town, and DL is only open till 7. I love Mom & Pop shops and restaurants. I also love country and faith / hope based themes. Combine the two into a coffee shop and you have found... well... nearly heaven. This place is nestled in the cute and quaint downtown historic area of Front Royal. I live 30 min away and drive that far just to study there. The place is super clean, the staff are very friendly, and the drinks / food are very good. Want a good sammich? My man Braden is your guy. Want a heavy handed scoop of ice cream? My girl Noelle pulls bowling balls out of the container. She must work out. Want a great smile to lift your day? Alex and Lynndora gotcha covered. I'm so comfortable when I come to this place, legend has it I may have even fallen asleep on their couch. Seriously though, this place is a hidden gem. I'm grateful to be a customer there. They take great care of me....

We were not acknowledged when we were standing at the counter and had to ask for someone to take our order (no one was in front of us at this time), the lid to one of our drinks was not put on correctly and was overfilled so that when my husband picked it up, it overflowed and burned his hand to the point that we had to run cool water over his hand and an hour later was still red. The employees did not apologize, had absolutely no concern and gave attitude when asked what we wanted them to do. We told them to remake the drink that had spilled. If you want typical coffee shop attitude of of employees not being bothered to do their job, then absolutely go. The drink was good as far as...
