While there are other Chinese restaurants in town, they cater to a different crowd as they are buffets. Regarding dine-in, carry out and menu, this is really the only choice. At least when Ben’s was open there was some competition and the standards had to be kept to some modicum of decency-granted not terribly high but enough to make the food edible. Now that this restaurant has no competition, the quality of the food has deteriorated to the point of inedibility. The last two times we have ordered. The food has been so bad we could not eat it. And this is not based on opinion or palate. The food is literally inedible. Coconut chicken was so hard it was like chewing rocks. I chipped a crown. They also included walnuts, which was not in the menu. Of course, my husband being deathly allergic to nuts, avoided the dish altogether. Note to management: in the restaurant, business nut, allergies are serious (and you are required to list dishes containing nuts as being so). A month later, we decided to give them one more try on the basis that everyone has a bad day and dammit, we were hungry for Chinese food. The pad Thai noodles were so over cooked it was as if they had become oatmeal. I am not exaggerating. The flavor was fine-the texture, needless to say, was sorely lacking. Have you ever eaten noodles with a spoon? I have! The crab rangoon was undercooked to the point where the cream cheese filling was still cold and the filo pastry still had flour in the center. Nice and chewy! I am not an impolite human being, and being in the restaurant business ourselves we understand what goes on behind closed doors. When we contacted management both they responded with absolutely no interest in improvement or making our experience any better. Their solution was for us to return the food. We live 25 minutes away on top of a mountain. That simply wasn’t an acceptional option for us -so it is us who will not be returning. While we fully realize that our lack of business will certainly not affect theirs if you’re in the mood for Chinese, I suggest you...
Read moreNo salad bar now,not sure if that's because it's a weekend, or not offered any more. Dining area outdated needs some repair of booths, torn padding in booths. Windows on entrance very dirty. Owner seemed friendly and took our orders accurately except forgot the appetizer but we were not charged for the missed item. I don't think he understood English well enough to take orders, but the kids who seated us and took drink orders seemed annoyed and it showed. Mixed vegetables with chicken and brown rice was just ok, seems like it was from a pack of frozen mixed vegetables not fresh prepared vegetables. Chicken added to the entree tasted precooked, not fresh. Whatever oil they used to prepare wasn't sesame, wasn't olive, didn't have much flavor. I couldn't finish since it was a good sized portion but I didn't want to take any home. The others in our party of 3 were content with their plates, especially the sesame chicken combo plate. I rarely give less than a good review,but for the price it could tasted better. The online menu shows the lunch items for the weekdays, but the prices for similar entrees are higher on weekend...
Read moreThis was without a doubt the worst Chinese food I have ever had in the 65 years of eating at Chinese restaurants around the world. The wonton soup was just water with nothing in it, and some dried up wontons you could add to it yourself. The meat on a stick was hard as a rock. This was at 5 pm when the food should have been fresh. Everything was old and dry, even the noodles and fake crab meat. My water had a soapy taste to it. The big slap in the face was the $40 bill for that horrible nightmare. We were the only people eating there, which should have been a big clue that the food was terrible. Don't waste a penny on this place.
Update;
Sir, I have read your response, including your excuses and acknowledgment that the food served during our visit was not fresh. What was noticeably absent, however, was any offer to refund the money we spent on what was clearly a subpar dining experience. I am giving you a final opportunity to make this right. Should you choose to do so, I will remove the review and consider the...
