I don't like giving bad reviews but when one is due, it has to be done. I like to visit a place a few times before I give it a review. Simply because I understand there are bad days and good days. Upon my first visit, there is only one other table that had people at it. So I was thinking, sweet, our service is going to be fantastic! Boy I was wrong! We ordered breakfast food for dinner, and even though the main food was just OK, the sausage links tasted like they sat there for the entire day and had been microwaved. Luckily the rest of my meal was mediocre enough to tolerate the bad sausage. Upon our second visit, I decided to order some actual dinner food. This time the service was still slow, with people at 3 other tables, and my food was barely warm and again very mediocre tasting. On our third visit (and will be our last) there were 5 tables with people at them. The service was even worse this time. One person took our drink order and they never brought them out. Another person noticed we had been sitting there for 15 minutes and took our drink order again and brought them out. We ordered our food and it took about 35 minutes to receive it. Again, coming out barely warm. Wile we waited we heard 2 of the tables ask for the manager, and then complained about their food. I ordered onion rings with my meal, the fact that my onion rings were even put on a plate by whomever cooked them, was completely unacceptable! Then to pass them to the waitress and the waitress actually bring them to me is even more unacceptable. They were so burnt I couldn't even eat them. And at $4 for onion rings you would think someone there would get it straight. I'm not one to complain about my food to someone but this time it needed to be done. When we went to pay the manager rang us up and asked how everything was, I told her the onion rings were unbearable. She made all kinds of excuses and then took the price of the onion rings off from our bill. Just a tip. Apologize, fix, and thank your customers. They do not need to know all the reason why you could have possibly served terrible food to someone. The simple fact those onion rings even made it on a plate by the first person is what is disturbing. I only gave 2 stars because the onion rings were removed from our bill. Sadly I feel this place will close down shortly just like the last 10 businesses that have...
Read moreWe went for a quick dinner. Place was empty. Waiter was training and admitted that he had never eaten anything at Big Boy so couldn't speak on or recommend anything. He took our order...then 5 minutes later came back to take it again because he couldn't read what he wrote the first time. He returned to the table about 15 minutes later to say that they didn't have any hotcakes but could sub for waffle or muffin. Five minutes later he brought my food. Another 5 minutes later he brought 1 waffle (dry) no butter and no syrup. Few minutes later brought syrup jug w broken spout. I've finished my dinner already and then after another 10 minutes he brings my husband's southern omelette with NO GRAVY on it and what looked to be raw hashbrowns (he ordered extra crispy). The plate goes back to the kitchen for gravy and is returned with the same raw/undercooked hash browns. Again he asks for crispy hash browns so they take the whole plate back instead of removing those and giving him the omelette at least to eat. The management comes to the table and says there's something wrong with their hash browns because they won't cook up crispy and offers to remake the omelette and substitute fresh fruit for hash browns. My husband reluctantly agrees since he still hasn't eaten anything but the waffle and I'm done eating. The plate is brought back one last time and my husband starts to eat the omelette and quickly finds that it is burnt to a crisp inside. The sausage is black and everything tastes burnt. At that point we are done... we offer to pay for my meal but do not want any more attempts to fix his meal. Management says we don't need to pay for anything. The other patrons that came in after us all had similar problems with the food they were served as well. Most of the tables had chairs up on them when we got there at 6pm like they were about to close. Floors were dirty and the salad bar island was empty and looked filthy inside. We will NEVER frequent this...
Read moreHonestly, my experience today made me a patron of this Big Boy for life. My husband and I took our 4-year-old to celebrate her last day of school. The service was attentive and the food was good. While we were there, more of my family wanted to come and join us and have desserts so we stalled for a bit. When my family arrived, my nephew went and played the claw machine...and the machine didn't drop the prize right and it got stuck. The manager and staff went above and beyond trying to help make this right for him. And not only that, the manager gave my daughter and niece a special prize also. I understand not all days will be like this and this won't be the same for other customers and the crane machine isn't even their problem, but I left the restaurant with 3 children who were made to feel extra special by the manager and that wins every time. The manager also chased me down outside the restaurant to give me my sunglasses I had left at the table. This manager went above and beyond for my family, and I guarantee she will give superior service to anyone else who enters this establishment. Her staff was great, but it's probably because she's an...
