The only reason I'm giving one star is because the food was hot and decent despite how long it took to get. We had a party of 6 and arrived around 7:30 last night (a Tuesday). It wasn't busy but we had to wait a few minutes for a table. Not a problem, we had 6 people. While we were waiting, the phone rang and rang and rang, even though the hostess stood there listening to it. Maybe she wasn't allowed to answer it, I don't know. Sadly, it was a sign for how the rest of the experience would be. Once we were sat, we waited. And waited. And waited some more. 20 minutes before our server arrived at our table. During that time frame, at least 3 or 4 other servers passed our table numerous times each, never once acknowledging us or asking had we been greeted. The hostess was among these people, too. Once our server did arrive, she wasn't among those who'd passed us by, she'd been in the back apparently. She didn't apologize to us for the wait. Maybe she didn't know we had been waiting so long at the time. But someone could've told her she had the table. I spent 20 years in restaurants, doing everything from server to cook to management, including casual dining. The hostess should've been the first to inform the server she had a table. If not, her coworkers could've told her. One of our party has sensitive teeth, so order a sweet tea with no ice. Came back with ice. But the tea was warm enough to have melted most of it, so okay for her but the others, not so much lol. We ordered 3 appetizers between us all---fried zucchini, mozzarella sticks, and chips and salsa. Over half an hour it took to get them. These were fried foods and chips and salsa on a night that again, was not busy. Completely unacceptable. Then, in total, over an hour to get our main course. The cooks can obviously cook a decent meal, but they are woefully slow in doing so. Two nearby tables asked for managers regarding their service. We asked for him also at the end of the meal but were told he was outside talking to someone. We waited 15 minutes then gave up, paid our check and left, never to return here again. This is the absolute worst experience we've had in a restaurant in recent memory. The service is abhorrent, from the hostess to the servers to the cooks to the management. Does Logan's just hire anybody who fills out an application? Not a single person we encountered either directly or indirectly during our visit would've lasted an entire shift if I was the manager, I can tell you that much, including the manager, who obviously had had enough already of complaints. But guess what? That's your job to deal with them. And then correct them. Our terrible experience was not the fault of just one person, it was the direct result of the incompetence of many--the hostess, servers, cooks, and manager on duty. Whether our server was busy in the back doing side work or taking a smoke break or whatever she was doing for 20 minutes, somebody could've greeted us and at minimum, gotten our drinks and told us our server would be with us shortly. Just a little goes a long way, especially with people who know what it's like to work in a restaurant. And that's the thing, see. We know what it's like. We know what it's like when it's busy. And we know what it's like when it's slow. There was absolutely no excuse for the dismal service we received last night. Not one single excuse good enough because too many people failed at the most basic aspects of their jobs. This is a reflection of management as a whole, not just the one on duty last night. Who trained these people? There wasn't a shred of evidence of good basic customer skills to be found in that place. And that ultimately is a reflection of the company as a whole. If you have an entire staff of incompetence running your restaurant, how can you expect people to return when they can better service at any of your nearby competitors. I filled out the survey and I didn't write down the code for "next visit", because there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my first post in a bit. I've dined out a couple of times this year but just haven't kept up with the reviews. This new single life without a kid changes things. I told myself to get out of [this] royal funk and so I chose to eat out tonight. One step at a time! On to the point of this review.... Logans. Well, when I first entered the establishment the host/ess stand was manned by two females. Both with cell phones in hand. I would like to say that the one whose back wasn't to me should've seen me standing there but.. it is possible to be so engrossed on one thing thereby losing awareness of your surroundings. The one female eventually turned around. Honestly, it was probably less than 2 minutes that I stood there but we all know how slowly time moves when you are going through situations such as thisš. I went to the bar. Yes, I stood there only to ask if the bar was open seating. You never know. I was eventually assisted. At the time that I went, I was the only person at the bar. I ordered my drink, app, and entree at once. My app was a side Caesar. After I sat for a bit, I decided to play a game on my phone. During that time, another patron sat at the bar. He was greeted as she sat down my drink. A little time passes and he has now placed his order. I started playing games on my phone. We both get an order of bread. I wanted to wait until my salad came. No salad. I look up and he has a side salad. I say nothing until he's about two bites in. I ask her if my salad is coming. Her eyes get big. Here's where my š¤Øš¤ comes into play... another 5 minutes or so pass before my salad ever comes. Did you forget my entire order or just my salad?? Another young lady brings the salad. Get this... I'm not a fast eater at allš people hated going with me to the chow hall because I took forever eating. I ate all of my salad pushed the plate away and still waited for the entree. The dining experience at a sit down restaurant (of this caliber) was timed at/around 16 minutes for the protein - 20 at the most. And I'm talking about a well done steak or chicken breast. The gentleman that arrived after I put in my order was now eating his entree. Yes...I know this is long but, I warned you about 20 reviews ago... I'm old! š And yes, I laugh at myself. I ordered the salmon and shrimp with creamy spinach sauce. The meal wasn't as good as I remembered. I've never eaten it at this particular location. The few times I have were in Tuscaloosa. The service might've dampened the taste as well. Emotions/moods can shift hormones thereby changing the taste of certain foods š¤. I asked for the check. For that single experience I was charged $36. I left $6. Still a decent tip but definitely low by my standards. Probably can't say I'd recommend this particular location. It doesn't really matter though unless you have the opportunity to go elsewhere and see what better service looks like. It's hit or miss and this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to several different Loganās Roadhouse locations and generally have had good enough experiences. Tonight couldnāt have been further from that. Iām in town for business and my hotel is down the street from this location. I figured I would place a pickup order to take back to the hotel and eat. Beats having yet another fast food meal, or so I thought. My email confirmation said the order would be ready at 7:46. I got there right at 7:45 and the restaurant seemed about half full. There were quite a few people waiting in the front area, about 5 were waiting for pick up orders. The girl behind the desk said the kitchen was behind and sheād get me my food as soon as it was ready. I ordered the 8oz sirloin with two sides and an unsweetened iced tea. The website says 32oz drink but I was brought a 20oz. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying. Most of the people there were approaching the hour mark waiting for their orders and were growing increasingly frustrated. I overheard two employees talking and one mentioned that they canāt even seat tables because the kitchen was so behind. One lady mentioned she was approaching the 90 minute mark since she had placed the order and was clearly not happy. Finally, at 8:26 (40 minutes after it was supposed to be ready) the bartender/manager brings both our orders. I noticed he had another 20oz cup with my order and I asked if that was my iced tea, which he confirmed. I mentioned that the size was not what the website advertised, but that Iād gladly take the 2nd tea and it wasnāt that big of a deal. I get to my hotel room to find the smallest 8oz steak Iād ever seen. Turned out to be incredibly tough and even though I asked for it medium, it was undercooked in spots and just not good overall. The plastic knife they gave could barely cut through the surface, so I grabbed a chefās knife from the kitchenette, and even that stopped cutting halfway through. I eventually picked it up and tried to eat it by hand. After a few tough bites and feeling like it was gonna end up losing a tooth, I gave up. The side of steamed broccoli (Iām trying to be somewhat healthier on the road) was minuscule and most of the pieces had noticeable brown spots. The Cesar salad was fine, albeit small. I finished my first iced tea and took a sip only to find it was sweet tea, and disgusting. I spent $28 after tip to wait 3x as long as promised, only to be served nearly inedible food, and the wrong drink. If I wasnāt already comfortable in my hotel room, Iād have gone back to get at least a different steak. Most of the staff I spoke to were at least friendly and polite, even though they were dealing with numerous complaints. I should have just...
