Moe's Southwest Grill — Restaurant in Fuquay-Varina

Visited this location before COVID and had a great experience. Not now! It was my son's birthday. He chose this location and was excited! We checked the hours online, it stated they were open til, 10pm. We arrived about 8:45pm. We were the only customers. We were not greeted. We were met with four male employees behind the counter, who rolled their eyes and whispered and laughed as we approached. I wanted to leave then and felt very uncomfortable, but this was what my son wanted for his birthday.

We made our selections and I approached the order area. The male employee who was taking orders, looked at me and said, "What do ya want?" Rude. I told him and he immediately started making it wrong. I corrected him and with a sigh of disgust, threw the tray behind him and said quite sternly, "I asked you!" He didn't listen as I was quite clear. We were asked if we wanted queso by one of the other employees. We said we did. To which another male employee said, "Oh, too bad, we don't have any!" Then they all laughed.

My family ordered their food and my son, did manage to get the burnt bits of what scraps of queso was left in a pan, put on his sandwich. I went to pay and noticed they were bagging our food to go. I said, "Oh that's for here, sorry." The male employee said, "No, it's going to be to go. We close in 10 minutes. The website and hours on the door are wrong. We close at 9pm."

We were looking forward to a sit down, family birthday meal and I had checked prior. They could've mentioned it when we walked in and/or ordered. Then as he rung up the order (charging full price for the burnt nasty queso on my son's sandwich) he then pointed to the screen and said, "Don't forget to give us a BIG tip!" Then he laughed. Appalling!!

As we were leaving, several of the employees walked to a table, with food and sat down to eat.

I will never patronize this location ever again! Nasty, rude and there are other places to spend your money and be treated better.

I hope the owner sees this review, checks their camera and most importantly, if they care about their business, does better!!!

We didn't let this ruin my son's birthday, but wouldn't recommend this...

Monday 6:20 7/25 Time of visit. the staff were trying but you can tell this is very poorly managed Restaurant. At least at the time I went. It took probably 25 minutes to get a burrito with 9 items ahead of me. This was after a few people left because of wait time. The staff is all very young and there appeared to be no shift leader present. 4 people on the line, a kid making chips and refilling ice and a spastic skinny girl refilling items. So six people and your averaging a 3 minute wait time per item. That’s not good. At the end the line was backed up probably 15 people or so. The bottleneck so to speak was the young man doing containers/tortillas/meat etc. he was trying but was very slow. While waiting for customers to proceed the rest of the staff just stood there in their preassigned roles. he was also trying to communicate the entire order to the other staff which was just slowing down even more. Also the roaming skinny girl was eating while working around the food which wasn’t great. Food was fine. Anyways manage...

1 star, only because I can't give 0. Do not, I repeat, do NOT order online from this restaurant. After having two pleasant experiences with online orders previously, we placed an order for online pickup on Mother's Day, for our child to pick up on the way over. AN HOUR after the order was supposed to be READY, they were just then starting to make it, with seven other online pickups also waiting there, also an hour or more late for their orders to be ready... because the employees decided to make orders for walk-ins instead of prioritizing the orders that had set pick up times... and were ignoring the people waiting there, trying to get their orders - ORDERS THAT WERE ALREADY PAID FOR - instead of hastily fixing their orders, apologizing for the wait, and throwing in some freebies (like some cookies) to make it up to them.

We will never again order online from Moe's, and honestly, will probably never eat there again. Everyone that worked on Mother's Day 2020...
