Express Steak — Restaurant in Gadsden

Prices have gone WAY out of control. Ate there a year ago. Had the 8 oz. sirloin tips. A year ago it was around $15.50. Last night they are sitting at around $22. Came with 1/3 cob of cold corn (sent it back) and a small bowl of green beans. 3 of us ate. 2 with drinks. Total was $73.63 pre tip. Worst part is at the bottom of the receipt: "If paid with cash You could've saved $2.97". Thought that wording was in very poor taste. There should be a law stating that the surcharge will be added to your bill and posted in an inconspicuous place in LARGE visible letters, not on your receipt after you have paid.

We won't be back. I could have gotten better at Longhorn Steakhouse with a better than fast food atmosphere for less. Used to be a decent place. All I can figure is they jacked up the prices to pay for operations at the cost of sacrificing their dwindling...

ZERO STARS!!!!! Picked up my "to go" order of a chicken finger combo, got back to my office and chicken fingers were completely burned and fries were definitely cooked in VERY OLD oil. Called back and was told to bring the food back to be replaced. Told them I didn't have another lunch break today and this was supposed to be my lunch. They said to bring it back when I got off work and they would replace. I said that was not possible so they told me to bring it back tomorrow. My response was "Do you really want me to keep this food overnight and bring it back tomorrow?". I was told yes, so I said never mind, I won't be back and neither will anyone I know. Very friendly, helpful staff. Food was good. We had a ribeye and a NY Strip. Strip was 10 oz and cooked a perfect medium rare. I had ribeye and got the 8 oz. Ordered it medium rare as well but it was medium. I should know better, extremely hard to cook that size cut a good MR. Was just trying to save a few bucks. It did seem a little pricey for having to order at the counter before sitting down. It's in a strip mall, so atmosphere was a little lacking, but staff did make it feel fairly comfortable. Sides were good, though limited. Name actually fits it very well. Good enough for a repeat when we're through Gadsden again. I did like the pics from Jerusalem....
