Made the mistake of paying $35 for an in home measurement. Most other places do this for FREE so don’t pay for this. Hope this saves someone else of being scammed out of their money. I feel like it was a scam. The tech who came out and drew the layout said I would get a copy of his layout / measurements emailed to me. When I got the message my measurements were ready the guy Gary over the phone said in my email I would have an attachment, but that it would only open on a desktop computer not a cell phone. Got home and tried on my desktop, but there was no Attachment just a quote for the cost of labor and materials. I called back the next day and spoke with Gary again who was baffled at why I didn’t get an attachment and said perhaps they stopped giving them out. He could see it, but was not Allowed to send it to me. Supposedly his manager also did not know why they could not send the measurements to the customer but just that they didn’t. When I asked for a refund since they could not procure the measurements , Gary assured me that if I went in person to the store the store associate would be the one who could print out the layout for me and any refund would have to come from the store not him because at this point he claimed to just be support to the store. I went into the store and they were not able to see any measurements and could not refund me either.
Remember folks, they advertise for you to pay $35 for an in home MEASURMENT, but it appears they have charged me $35 to give me a quote since they won’t release my measurements or the layout the tech assured me I would get a copy of. BTW their cost of Labor was double the price what 2 others quoted me who came out later and did the measurements and cost...
Read moreI ordered a water heater online since my water heater died. They did not have any large water heaters in store. I first ordered this product about 2.5 weeks ago online. All seemed well. It supposedly came in about a week later. I went to the store to pick it up and was told that a cabinet had been shipped instead of a water heater. That’s pretty frustrating since we’ve gone a week without hot water. It’s cold outside. Not freezing, but cold. With 5 kids, it’s not the best situation to be in. We’ve had to boil water to give our kids baths. I’ve pretty much spot washed myself. When I asked if they could expedite the shipping, they said that they could not. So they have no sway over their relationship with this shipping company and/or manufacture. I was told that the new shipping would take about a week. About a week and a half after this point I am told by someone over the phone that the product is at the store. So I go to retrieve it and I am told after waiting there for about an hour that it’s still on the truck and won’t be unloaded until tonight which means it probably won’t be ready to pick up until the next day or the day after. It will be close to 3 weeks that we have had no hot water at that point. When I asked a manager if they could give a discount for this unit due to the circumstances and failures of the company, I was told that I could receive a $200 gift card. While I am grateful for that, that’s not even a 10% discount on the item. This is absurd. A multibillion dollar company can only give a less than 10% discount. That’s crazy. Bc of their unethical actions and immoral conduct I will never shop there again and encourage everyone else to think twice before stepping into this store and the following is why. Someone close to me rents their trucks regularly, has given Home Depot thousands of dollars and been a loyal valued customer for years .. he is In the rental department regularly and the people that work there know him. He is a familiar face and has given them no reason to question his intentions. He has paid Home Depot with out any issues and one would think that they would value his business as well as well as respect Him as a person and treat him the way they are treated. That did not happen.. today he was pulled over by state patrol bc the rental truck was reported stolen. After several phone calls back and forth prior to this where a message couldn’t be left or there was no answer he finally spoke with someone earlier that morning and got the “okay” to keep the truck through the week (this was not the first time the rental has been extended so we thought all was well since communication was successful and there was no objection to keeping the truck )... after pulling him over and handcuffing him the cop spoke with Home Depot who decided they weren’t going to press charges. So the took the cuffs off and gave the impression all was well.
