Little Italy for certain! (not that I've been there but what I expect). The food was awesome. I got Auntie Gracie's entree. Spicy sausage mushrooms piled with cheese. Our waitress said "we like cheese here!" Family style salad and buttered garlic bread. Bread was definitely buttery and a thick tasty layer of garlic. Mmmm. Then the desserts. Tiramisu and chocolate cake with whipped cream. A flourless torte really as it was the gluten free option. Both were exquisite... The family and extended family met for a post Christmas gathering. Everyone very happy and full... beautiful Italian music playing in the background. The restaurant structure was also fascinating. Across two street levels as it's a very hilly area. The upstairs bathroom was reached by going outside the dining area through a small veranda and then in another connecting building. In the bathroom I noticed the floor was a little unlevel due to the older hilly area. Fun. Would've been even more interesting had I had the wine too! And the pictures. Original shipped from Italy of the original family. Apparently they had quite the expense and troubles with customs. Glad they did it. Really added to the atmosphere! Also a menu for gluten free.

Read the one star reviews… completely accurate. The food was OK… definitely not true homemade Italian pastas at all. Tasted very bland and basic unfortunately which was surprising because they were plated well and looked appetizing! We got the seafood stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and as other reviews said it was basically mushrooms stuffed with breadcrumbs smothered in a cream sauce and some cheese… no seafood taste at all! Big let down. We got fettuccine Alfredo, chicken Marsala and Chicken Romano… where to start…uggggh… the Alfredo was not rich and creamy as advertised.. didn’t taste any notes of Parmesan cheese at all or any cheese in it for that matter…it was a watered down thin white sauce with little flavor. I’ve had jarred Alfredo sauce from Aldi that was creamier and had more flavor. The Marsala was supposed to be a lightly breaded chicken breast but it was mostly a rubbery plain old chicken breast in marsala sauce that was lacking in any originality at all… then the chicken romano was supposed to be Smothered in a rich basil cream sauce and again it was not rich or creamy nor did I taste any hints of basil at all… tasted more like watery cream of tomato soup 🥫 the best part of the meal was the garlic bread. Super disappointing. At this point it’s like false advertisement reading the descriptions of the food only to get a super simple dish. If your not a fan of herbs and spices and like very bland dishes you will like it here. The prices were a bit high for crappy pasta and sticking a rosemary sprig in a dish makes it look nice but doesn’t make it taste better. Will not return . Our server was great and we did like the atmosphere so at least we had that.

To start, the service was amazing--but the food left a lot to be desired. It was my first time but my mom had been here before and raved about her favorite dish. She got it, and I got a similar dish made with a different protein but the same sauce. Neither dish was made well. They were bland and flavorless. We talked to the server and she took them back to the kitchen where they added garlic and basil (which were missing the first time around even though it's a staple of the dish) but unfortunately also added an excess of oil and for some reason Franks hot sauce. It smelt better, but the taste was over powered not by the flavor of fresh herbs but of vinegar from the hot sauce. We thought maybe it was a new cook, but apparently it was the same person who's been cooking there for 30 years and from talking to others around town the dishes have become very inconsistent. There was SO much oil in both our dishes, it was inedible. The garlic bread and salad with their house raspberry vinegrette were delicious, but the rest just wasn't worth the price. As neat as the building is and as amazing as our server was, I don't know if we'll give it another try when there are so many other places to go in Galena.

Let me start off by saying that this was not a good experience from our waitress (Cindy) to the food. She was not pleasant from the beginning and did make any effort to remedy her behavior throughout the dinner. She was not genuine and didn’t seem to care about paying customers by making passive aggressive comments throughout the meal. This by itself left a horrible taste in our mouths and made us uncomfortable. Then we go to the food. What was supposed to be garlic bread arrived and the waitress said, “be careful not to move it too much or the butter will spill out”. Not only do you know that there is an over abundance amount of butter but it looks like a swimming pool on the bottom of the dish. That is disgusting and there was NO GARLIC or any flavor on the bread. Next, we get the main courses and they are extremely disappointing from the overcooked noodles that were not fresh, to the over oiled plates, and to top it off again NO FLAVOR!!!! Only positive thing was the salad, company and the building is very nice to be in. I do not recommend this place if you actually like Italian food this place is barely mediocre at best.

This Italian restaurant is great! The inside is really neat as they have all these individually styled rooms with different themes. The service was great and attentive. The food was really good. The salad and garlic bread were really delicious. The Spaghetti Olio is good for those that do not want a heavy sauce. The Fettuccine Carbonara was also good for those looking for something a little more filling. A really fun and delicious place to dine.
