If you are a bride-to-be and considering having your rehearsal dinner here, I highly recommend you go elsewhere. My husband and I hosted a rehearsal lunch here and the whole lunch was very disorganized. We booked this place months before the actual event date. We also chose a whole menu for our guests a month before and a room (they have options) for our party.
The day of our rehearsal, no one knew where to sit my 30 person party. Once we were sat, they were asking us what we wanted to order for food, as if we hadn’t discussed this with a manager a month prior to. We had to go over all of our decisions that same day. On top of this, when they brought everyone’s drink bill, they forgot the food bill we were covering. My in laws hosted the rehearsal for us, so when we saw my father-in-law receive a bill, we assumed it included everything. They walked us out, and were super nice (trying to makeup for the bad service). They even waved us off and wished us a happy wedding. We almost forgave them for all the mishaps bc they were being so nice.
Fast forward, my husband and I are on our way to our Welcome Party and the restaurant calls me saying we didn’t pay for the food. I’m in shock! I’m confused how this happened. I tell them, I’ll have to talk to my father in law and get back to them. My father-in- law tells me he transferred the money to my husband thinking we had maybe prepaid since they never brought out the bill to him. At this point, there was nothing we could do. We were in the middle of our welcome party, people are saying hi left and right. So, we tell the restaurant we’ll have to pay Sunday (after our wedding). It was their fault for forgetting to bring us the food bill after all.
It’s Sunday, my husband and I pack up our car to leave to the restaurant to pay our dues, and then I realized I lost our keys. We looked for hours. I then get a call from my dad saying they won’t let some of my aunts and uncles (that had gone to the restaurant for lunch) leave until we paid. The audacity! They weren’t even at the rehearsal! They just knew we were related bc my dad stopped by at the end.
We ditch the car to deal with it later, and my friend gave us a ride to the restaurant. When we arrived there were guests saying very rude and racist remarks to us. “Of course they’re Mexican!” “Oh, look they finally came!” The staff was talking bad about us to their guests. We paid and left very unhappy.
I have never encountered a more incompetent staff. Please, If you’re thinking about hosting a big event here, stay away!! Save...
Read morefirst of all- it was difficult to find the entrance. we parked across the main street where we saw the building, but no door. followed the sign around the corner and upstairs, could see diners but still couldn’t find the entrance. We finally found it, and we brought to our table in a somewhat small dining room. I got myself an Italian margarita, and was brought what essentially was a an extremely sweet fruit juice-could not taste the alcohol at all, and this was a $14 drink. Next, I ordered a baked shells pasta dish, with half Alfredo sauce and half marinara sauce. When it arrived, there was zero mozzarella cheese, covering the top – maybe I’m wrong, but when you say on the menu that it is a baked dish, I expect it to be baked with cheese on top. Please let me know if my expectations are wrong in that sense? When I asked for a side of shredded mozzarella, the waitress told me they did not have any (despite selling pizza), so instead she brought me shredded Parmesan, which was not the Parmesan. They used on the garlic bread instead using craft Parmesan. You can get at the grocery store. Both sauces were completely bland and tasteless. I had to add salt just to make it taste like anything good at all, and the ricotta was also bland and unseasoned inside of the pasta shell. The salad that came with the meals was Wilty and the waitress had been bragging about their house dressing, which just barely had flavor again and no croutons. Nothing to jazz up the salad at all. It was also very boring. I am giving four stars for the service in the atmosphere just because the server was very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is cool, lots of pictures of Venice and it does look like it would be a good authentic Italian restaurant. But I have eaten in Italy and I have eaten all over the country of America, and this is probably one of the worst Italian places I’ve ever been to. I really wish I didn’t have to give this place this bad of a review, but there are about 1000 things they could do to step up their game and actually make tasty food, especially in such a touristy destination. (I was snowboarding up at Chestnut Mountain.) very disappointing, I would never go there again, and I do not recommend anyone else to go there either. Probably could’ve gotten something microwavable from the grocery store that would have tasted better and...
Read moreWe recently had our wedding rehearsal lunch here and everything was great food-wise. We decided on a food package ahead of time and the staff seemed very confused when we got there about what was happening. We got things sorted out and carried on. At the end of the meal, everyone closed their bar tabs and staff started saying bye to us and our guests, and we left to our next event. They never packed up our leftovers or brought out the final bill to be paid (we paid a deposit and were told we could settle the rest after the meal). Because of this confusion, we left without paying and were contacted in the middle of trying to prepare for our wedding to come pay the bill. We went back Sunday after the wedding to settle up and were treated like criminals, even being heckled by other diners at the restaurant. I find it extremely unprofessional that the staff was discussing our matter with and/or in front of other customers and it left us with a very bad impression of this restaurant. We always had the full intention of paying the bill and I’m sure they understand how hectic it is trying to have a wedding, so I’m not sure why we were treated this way when it is the staff’s responsibility to ensure all bills are settled before customers leave. It really seemed like the staff gave up halfway through our meal, as guests were reporting to us that drinks they ordered were never brought and the staff became harder to find as the meal went on. My wife and I have had great past experiences at this restaurant in the past (hence why we chose it for our rehearsal lunch) and it’s just a shame that a very special event for us had to end up this way because of the lack of follow through on the restaurant’s part. To sum up, this is a great place to go for a date or similar experiences, but maybe avoid planning large events if you don’t want to end up in...
