Check out this Mexican Restaurant: Primo’s Cafe on 6701 Stewart Rd. A hidden gem with a friendly staff, inexpensive eats and some of the best chips and salsa on the island IMHO. Be sure to tell them that Dave in Galveston sent you when you go. ##galveston##hiddengem##cheapeats##daveingalveston

I was looking for a small place to have breakfast and Primo’s did not disappoint. The seating area was just right for meet-ups, with Latin treatments on the windows and walls, and some paintings. Endless coffee was served all around me. I had the huevos rancheros and the serving size was more than the price would typically have indicated. I will definitely earmark this one for a return visit.

My favorite go to place for Mexican breakfast. They’re a little slow & there’s only a few tables. But the food is excellent & inexpensive. Chips & hot sauce are great & if you like HOT sauce, ask for the salsa verde. It’s HOT!! It makes my eyes water & they have a roll of paper towels on the table for those pesky runny noses from eating it. Closes at 2:45!

Primo's is a dive, but the staff is nice. The issue is that evertime we go, the ingredients in our burritos are either mixed up or just plain forgotten (today my potatoes were in my husband's burrito). This has been our experience for years and why we eat here occasionally. Chips and salsa are also $3.75, seems a tad high. The diet soda was expired on the cans but tasted fine. The green sauce for the burritos was very boring, some jalapeno was detectable, but zero heat. The bacon in my burrito was fried beyond recognition and all I could really taste was the pico....maybe an off day for the cook? Also my burrito was a grease bomb, which was odd considering that it was beans, pico, egg, hard bacon, and very little cheese (would expect that with chorizo or the normal amount of cheese). We may be back again, but it will be a...

I been coming here since they open and never had any bad experiences till today… I called to places an order . The phone rang and rang finally after trying numerous times a lady answered and she had me in hold for over 12 minutes, I made it to PRIMOS from UTMB and still on hold am thinking there super busy and I get there and not one vehicle in the parking lot and I go inside and the lady in seating down and on her phone chitchatting instead of taking the order and I told her . I been in hold for over 12min and your just here laughing on phone. She said that she was busy and had forgotten about phone call like are you serious. So we decided to eat there and still took another 6 min or so for another person could take are order this two ladies are just plain lazy .. they need to be replaced or...

Today was my first time here and I’m so glad I stopped here for brunch. Primos is so close to my apartment that I’m afraid I’m going to gain weight. It was so delicious I almost licked the plate clean. The first test of any Mexican restaurant for me is the salsa and chips, and these were the best I’ve had in years. Chips are fresh, super crispy and bubbly and the salsa was creamy and tangy and slightly spicy. Perfect! Their green sauce comes with if you’re in need of some heat. I ordered the breakfast enchiladas with scrambled eggs and every bite was better than the last. I had a crispy ground beef taco just to try and it was really good. I saw someone order a burrito and that thing was HUGE. It’s what I’ll get next time for sure. Service was fast and friendly. Highly...
