I completely understand the stress of being busy and it can have a toll on a person. My boyfriend and I ordered pickup two nights ago, I ordered a bowl and he ordered a burrito. The burrito was not big or filling at all. It wasn’t even half the size of a normal burrito at any other chipotle. I ordered queso for my bowl and they didn’t include it, nor did they let us know that they didn’t include it when we got there. Keep in mind queso is an extra $2. Didn’t get a refund… I mean I get it’s just $2 but it’s the principle of the matter. The portion size was probably the size of my hand. It didn’t even fill the bowl halfway.
Anyways we wanted to see if the experience may be different if we went inside and ordered. So we tried the place out again tonight. As soon as we walked in the place is TRASHED, the line is to the door (understandable for it being new), the staff was rude. The one in particular had blonde hair and face piercings. She was absolutely rude to my boyfriend and before she got to us she was just chit chatting with another employee who was in front of us (probably just got off of work) and talking bad about working there. I understand you may not like the job but there is about 20 people behind us in line, at 9pm at night, before we were able to order she wipes her nose with her hand and went to scooping the coworkers food. I ordered a bowl and mine was fine, my boyfriend went to order (the only thing he will eat from there is a burrito) she informed him that they were out of tortillas and could only do bowls or salads. But she didn’t say it nicely. No, she said “Um No we are out of tortillas so you might want to order something else” if I would have known that was the case I would have let him go first so we could have just left.
The entire staff looked like they were on drugs and that they were miserable. Again understandably that it is busy bc they just opened, and probably stressed and tired. But the rudeness and the unsanitary conditions was not Acceptable.
The only nice staff was the lady at the cash register. She was sweet. But that blonde was absolutely rude, didn’t care how many people were in line, and just...
Read moreIf you want food poisoning- this is the chipotle for you. I’ve been twice (twice too many times) and both times were gross. I thought I would give it a try since it had been a while. This time I walked in, and although the dining area was cleaner than last time, it still was very dirty. All the cabinets were open And it took a while for the two people working to wait on me, even though there were no other customers. Once I ordered my food, I watched a kid behind the counter, wipe down the kitchen area with no gloves and a cloth that they had also used on the floor. Behind him was the meat thermometer on the floor that he proceeded to step on twice and ignore. The next worker came over, picked up the thermometer and put it on the countertop (also no gloves). Then they used it in the food as I was waiting to pay. I don’t know about you and I’m no health inspector, but I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to do that along with all the no gloves and poor service. I left unsatisfied. I got home because maybe the food was OK and it was ice cold. I live two minutes from the chipotle Food. I was afraid of the meat so I peeled all the meat off because I was afraid I was gonna get food poisoning. That’s the second time that I’ve had to do that. Don’t come to this one. You will get sick. It’s disgusting. I know cleanliness isn’t really Chipotle’s “thing”...
Read moreThis location has only been open a few months and is still struggling. On my first visit 5 weeks ago, they were out of forks at 8pm on a Friday. Kinda hard to eat a bowl with no fork. I asked for a manager and suggested he send an emloyee to Walmart witb petty cash to buy forks. He said they had to wait for their supply truck the next afternoon. Not a good impression.
Tonight was my 2nd try with these guys. I went in the store about 7:30pm. They had about 6-7 people eating inside and, from what I could see about 5 employees there. I went to the counter to order and stood there almost 6 min before my presence was acknowledged. Meanwhile, the staff was refilling containers right in front of me without looking up. I finally had to say "excuse me, I'd like to order please" to get their attention. Once I ordered, things went like clockwork. Food was fresh and good like a typical Chipotle.
A simple... "Sir, we'll be right with you" would have been nice. Both experiences were a serious lack of customer service. In Galveston, where you can get tacos and burritos at 20 other places, these guys need to learn some very basics from Chik-Fil-A or this franchise wont last long. If you choose to eat here, bring an extra portion...
