The Spice Harbor — Restaurant in Galveston

Sure, it is in a gas station but what lacks in atmosphere is made up in flavor and value. $13 a meal and I had plenty of food; I was full before finishing it all but kept on eating because it was so flavorful. We had the gyro and Shwarma wrap, fries, eggplant salsa, spicy. The shwarma was moist and herby (mint?) and the tomato chili sauce was to die for. The whole meal was delicious and I will dream of the deliciousness. I don’t know what type of cuisine it is, but I want to google it (Greek? Lebanese? Saudi? Afghani? No idea) to try and recreate it. But then maybe I shouldn’t and should stay away, as I’d gain tons of weight eating it all. Everyone who likes flavorful food should try...

We ordered for pickup on our beach vacation after finding this place from our search for falafel. We found delicious vegetarian options that weren't too spicy for us and our kids, and were impressed with the flavorful and creative take on the cauliflower. We've eaten at many Mediterranean style restaurants over the years and that was the best cauliflower we've had. The atmosphere in the restaurant can improve, but I remember what my Dad said many times growing up, "It can be a hole in the wall restaurant and people won't care if the food is really good". Grabbed lunch here and it was delicious! The service was great and the man who took our order helped us make a decision and answered all of our questions about the menu. I ordered a chicken plate and it came with 2 sides and a bed of rice. It was about $17 but it was a HEALTHY portion so definitely worth it. The food was very flavorful. Highly recommend!

Also, they do have parking available but it is limited. It’s in the plaza and it’s through the automatic doors. Also, it does have limited seating inside but you can take it to-go...
