Hwang's Restaurant — Restaurant in Gardena

When we arrived there were plenty of available tables open. There were about 10 choices of meats available compared to other Korean barbecues that may offer up to 30 options for the same price. There was no advertise lunch or dinner menu specials to distinguish price.

We had a pleasant experience with hiccups that included not being served rice, sides, and constantly asking for waiters attention. The staff was very friendly but we had to continue repeating ourselves when we ordered sides and condiments when only part of it arrived.

In conclusion, the restaurant was great but I left with a feeling that I did not get my money's worth.

Went on a Monday around 5. The place itself seems a bit small, about 8 grills in the main room and a few private rooms for the ayce. The place is ran by some very friendly older women. The portions are big when you order so i would recommend asking for a half order or just for a little bit. The bulgogi wasn’t as flavorful as others I’ve had, but still very good. Most of the things one would need like napkins, water, and utensils are all around the area for people to grab so there’s not much need to keep flagging down somebody to get you things besides food. Good place for AYCE Korean BBQ, especially for a late night craving (open till 1am) when all other places are closed. Swivel seats with no backing didn't bother me, and easier to get in&out compared to booths. I didn't have any issues with the service, although I noticed that the staff seemed more upbeat and friendly to Korean speaking customers, but with others it was more of a diplomatic interaction.
