Let me start off with, I love Moe's! This location is just awful based on my experience tonight. Brought my family here for a quick dinner on the way home from spending the entire day, outside in a heat index of 109 degrees at a softball tournament. We are tired, hungry, and ready to relax for a few minutes and enjoy some good food. This was not to be. Ordered our food fine, but when we got to the register, our order of $53.04 was declined on my debit card. I immediately assume it is me, even though I know there is $4000+ available in my debit account. Switch over to a capital one CC with $5000 limit, declined, discover, $15000 limit, declined. Now I know it is them so I tell the girl helping me that it must be them. There is a massive line building up behind me, and she turns down the line and says "Stephen, this guy's card is declined and he is acting like it is us". I have never been so embarrassed or infuriated in a restaurant in my life. To make it worse, they tried the guy behind me order ($20 or so) and it went through with no issue. They tell me to go get cash, in front of 20 or so people and my kids. The guy who's card just worked offers to pay for my order and I can cash app him. He tries, declined. I leave without eating to go find cash, go to an ATM that then charges me just to get my own money because it is a 10 minute drive to my bank. When I get back, there is another family checking out, order is $108, declined. The staff decides to split their order up to get it under $50 and get it to go through. I get up there, pay for mine in cash, but they can not give me a receipt because the system is offline. I am reaching out to the general manager to find out who owns this franchise, and which other locations they own, so I can make sure to never step foot in any of...
Read moreI hate that I have to leave this review. Moe’s in Garner has fallen off. I used to bring my family here sometimes and always had good experiences. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service… until today.
No ice in the drink machine, the men’s restroom was in disrepair (please call in a plumber to fix the sink), and the line workers were difficult to understand.
What particularly got under my skin was their failure to recognize their own advertised Monday special. There was a sign prominently displayed as we walked in that said “Moe Monday” (a burrito or bowl was supposed to be $7.99 each). Me and my daughter ordered one of each but were charged $12.39 for the burrito and $13.29 for the bowl.
To be fair and as a small business owner, I understand businesses charge for items outside what the special is. However, the workers were not clear on the items we ordered being sold for a different base price than the special. There was no apology given for this and I accepted it for what it was. However, this review is penance for that.
Finally, there was a time when Chipotle was making their customers sick and Moe’s responded saying they were ready to serve. However, with service like this, perhaps one should just...
Read moreWhile I'm normally a fan of Moe's food and their service, this place is a Pigsty! Filthy! When I walked through the door, the smell of filth smacked me in the face. The experience just became worse as, I worked my way through the restaurant, paid and finally to the beverage area. It was obvious that it wasn't just unkept from the dinner rush but, rather filth and crude that was days old. If the dinning area was that disgusting, I can only imagine the kitchen being much worse. While ordering, I dealt with a server that made me feel as though I was troubling her. Then, I had to ask her to remove a huge glob of over-ripe slimy cilantro back off of the burrito. After, grabbing my drink and feeling even more uneasy questioning whether the sweet tea jugs were cleaned properly. At that point, I knew that I made a huge mistake going to this establishment. As I had already pointed out the dirt under the cheese pots to the manager and observed that it didnt even faze him a bit; I didn't even feel like dealing with returning my food (after seeing the beverage station), as I knew it wasn't gonna be a professional experience and just left. Never again, at...
