As far as this Wendy's goes there is A LOT negative I can say about this establishment... However, for this review, I've gotten the inside scoop of what this Wendy's is like from a Former employer who wishes to stay anonymous. I'll hand the review over to them now.
This Wendy's was one of the worse places ever to be apart of. The poor staffing, how most of the food was either rushed, or undercooked. Like sometimes during a massive rush we speed up patties by pressing them harder on the grill.
The staff wasnt helpful, AT ALL. Usually there's always around 3-4 people one being a manager. Sometimes it's just one person and a manager. However some people there, namely cetain managers and crew were nice. But we also got a ton of rude people which is normal and all...like every place does. Despite that, we got the rude people more than often. And then they have me work like I'm one person doing the job of like 4-5 people, and trying to clean up after people who DON'T clean after themselves, and I'm not talking about the customers.
It has caused me so much stress I keep falling asleep more than not, wishing i was a corpse, and making me so sore I can barely stand, ALLLL because people calling out and i get the work. Which they don't bother to even fix in the schedule. Not to mention they will change the schedule at the drop of the hat and expect everyone to follow it even when it's last minute. Then they caused me to lose plans with my signifiant other because they refused to let me go back down to part time when I needed time to focus on my own life. It wasn't until I threaten to quit that they paid attention and gave me what I want. And do you know why? Because without me, the person who's pulling the slack for the team and doing everyone's job, they would have no one to run this place. And even then, they didn't even do that right. The manager copied and pasted the schedule leading to MORE problems. One day I was feeling legitimately sick and tried to call out. They thought I was faking it and MADE me come into work anyways. I felt so sick that day, I ALMOST puked in the Lobby but at the last minute puked in the bathroom. It took doing that for them to FINALLY listen. Yes. They forced a sick person to come to work and work the register, and making the food. People we're eating food I was making while sick and complained I was slow when again, I was doing everyone's job. And i was barely ever allowed to talk to anyone, manegment would yell at me to get back to work, even though all my stuff was already done when I already do the job of EVERYBODY. And yet, they get to do it all the time. they are hypocrates.
Also I've noticed that this place had an ant infestation before, and everything was so backwards I kept spinning in circles trying to figure out what im doing.
This place caused me so much stress I never wish to return to this, or any Wendys in the future.
This place will say they're kind, but they will undercook your meal, and call it fresh. That is all i gotta say.
9/13/2024 EDIT: This Wendy's in now Drive Thru Only. Now I've been keeping tabs on this establishment both on Yelp, and Google Maps, and can give you the short but sweet general message the public is saying.
-Rude Staff -They always get your order wrong. -Terrible food quality, or give you crusty, dried out food. -This store has numerous health/sanitary violations. -Mistreats and unpays their employees. -Slow drive thru when you can't dine in anymore. -Understaffed. -Terrible Management. -Slow service in general. -Ant Problem.
Edit: 6/12/25 Considering this place forced my husband to work through an injury that was caused by this Wendy's, my husband, Gregory King, backed by proof of his hospital bill intends to sue this Wendy's. This is the result of management putting him in an unsafe working environment and failing to document the incident. The only way you can save yourself now is to shut the business down, and he won't sue. I guarantee you, you WONT survive the court's legal fees if this goes to court. The...
Read moreBy far the worst experience ever! I felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by just being there. Had to repeat our order three times, it was wrong. Asked for only onion and mayonnaise, and got something with extra ketchup (sorry for the person in drive through, they probably got ours). Took it back to the counter, had to explain it twice before it was remade.... guess what? No mayonnaise. Went back to the counter, explained it again..twice. We had three packets of mayonnaise tossed in our direction. Fries were cold, our other burger was dry and cold. Looking behind the counter at the floor under the frier was beyond disgusting! Sorry, but no way possible that mess is from just that day! If so, no excuse for not keeping that work station clean. Again, I felt as if we were a total inconvenience to them for being there. I have lived in Gaylord for well over Thirty years and I believe in local business. But no way in hell will I come back before June. I now work in customer service and know a few things about high stress situations. The people I had to deal with at the counter would never make it! Sadly everyone thinks they're worth...
Read moreThe food was amazing at this location. I love a good fry, but when Wendy's fries are fresh out of the fryer, there's nothing better! Overall, the food was fantastic and reminded me how much I like Wendy's. They are far, far better than any McDonald's.
The service was another matter. The speed was a bit slower than I'd like, but they were rather busy, so that can be excused.
The employee at the drive-thru didn't have the same excuse. He was a bit rude and brisk when ordering, and sounded extremely annoyed and bored to be talking to us. I understand that fast food isn't the greatest place to work and the pay could be increased, but if you're hired to do a job then you should be doing it as expected.
Going out of your way to negatively impact a customer's experience is uncalled for and unwarranted. If you don't like the job and don't want to work there, then you need to find a job someplace else. Based on this guy's while attitude, I wouldn't want to hire him, nor give him a raise. The job entails more than taking orders, and necessitates a pleasant demeanor. It's not the customer's fault that you don't...
