Went for breakfast on 4/2/2022 around 9 am with my girlfriend. As soon as I walked inside, I noticed that they were about 75% filled, so the wait should not be too long. We were not greeted or even smiled at, and the staff just stood there and spoke to themselves. I informed them that I was looking for a table for two, but a booth would be great. I saw that they had couples seated in booths and figured it would not be a bad request. She told me that I would have to wait until they cleaned a booth off, and then we would be seated. I was confused because there were booths open, but she did not provide any explanation. As soon as I sat down, a family of four walked in and were seated. I figured maybe they had a reservation. As I was trying to rationalize, I noticed that they were cleaning off a booth. I thought that we would be seated next. However, a father and daughter came in and were immediately shown to that booth At this point, I am confused and a little annoyed. So I decided to ask the hostess why people were sitting before us? She told me that they tend to try and save the booths for larger groups. I then asked her why that father and daughter were seated before us in the booth that was just cleaned? She looked at me and said I would have to wait until they cleaned a booth for us. Listen, I am not a petty individual, nor is my girlfriend. I want to be treated equally to anyone else. With that said, I have no idea why others were more important than us. I have no problem waiting for reservations or other scenarios, but nothing was explained to us. We were essentially just brushed off. So we left as we figured we did not fit the demographic at this restaurant. My advice to the restaurant? 1) Train your staff to at least act happy towards customers. 2) Tell them to treat everyone fairly or at least have a reason as to why you are not seating in order as people arrive.3) Please make it known if you are looking for a particular demographic. We did not feel welcome at your business, and your staff could care less when we decided to leave To fellow readers and people who want to enjoy their time with family and friends? I would not go here. I decided to try "Nosh" down the street, and they were so friendly to us. My waiter was so professional and caring that I gave him a 40% tip. That is a restaurant that wants your business and tries to make you...
Read moreButtermilk stands out as one of the few remaining restaurants of its kind in the area, which makes it all the more disappointing that the experience falls short of expectations. While the establishment appears clean, the service is far from welcoming. The staff seems rushed and eager to turn over tables, often pushing customers to leave well before the stated 90-minute dining limit. To make matters worse, thereâs even a sign encouraging turnover. This behavior feels rude, especially when youâre dining with family and hoping for a relaxed meal.
The food, while inventive, is overpriced and heavily seasoned to the point of being overwhelmingâparticularly dishes like the skillets. The pancakes are another disappointment, undercooked, overly puffy, and lacking the balance expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Syrups and jams, which should be standard offerings, are only provided upon request, adding unnecessary inconvenience. The coffee is also underwhelming; despite the use of quality machines, the flavor is mediocre.
Overall, Buttermilk seems to be losing the charm and quality that likely made it popular in the first place. There is significant room for improvement, particularly in service and food quality, to make the experience align with the premium prices...
Read moreI have been to buttermilk at this particular location probably about five times at this point. I have consistently had delicious, fresh, innovative and amazing dishes every single time. This isnât your run-of-the-mill breakfast joint. They have really unique options and really delicious food. Their specials menu offers seasonal options that are actually really delicious recently we had some of their item options and their holiday options just yesterday I enjoyed eggnog French toast and I bought a month ago we had a harvest skillet and both were literally to die for! Their house coffee is really good and their lattes and specialty drinks are delicious. They also have alcoholic drinks if youâre interested in getting a Mimosa or bloody Mary. I also think this place would be a great option for a baby shower or other party or even for catering, this is a place I will consistently come back to you and bring guests to as well plus itâs in a charming area ideal for coming on a Sunday morning and strolling Genevaâs quaint streets for sight seeing or shopping. This is a great spot for a little brunch date, a girls brunch, or even a family stop, at buttermilk you absolutely cannot go wrong!!! Definitely try their Tres leches French toast in any of their...
