✓ 5/19 dinner with the family.... His steak burgers are some of the best burgers we've ever had, good job Rodney! ✓ 4/19 visit.... First time since Rodney was a little tipsy and out of line at the bar, is what it is though... Back for some good food and it was solid again for a little date night with my girl and i.. ✓ 8/29/18... Again I'll have to raise the stars rating to a 5 after this visit... Not only in Scott county but in all of Central Kentucky this place is so good for so many reasons, 1 of a kind spot to start-100+ year old building, to try and compare R to a competitor in Scott county just will never do justice.... Eat here and honestly try Rodneys specials, for the most part is well off the beaten path of the menu and he gets them right 9 times out of 10.... My family and I will be back in the next couple weeks. ✓Have to raise the rating to a 4.7 overall out of 5 stars after last night's dinner on 8/02/18, a new special item was on the menu, only 40$ and it was halibut and by far the best dinner I've had at Rodneys, my wifes dinner was also excellent!! ✓ 6-20-18 dinner...10+ minutes before being greeted by server, 27 minutes before bread and 2-$+12.50 cocktails made it to our table, tried the special app and after 2 of the fried oysters had hard lumps which was spit out, got our check and bounced, stars lowered after this trip and we won't be back to the over priced noisy restaurant... ✓After coming here a few more times i had to update my review. Had my family and parents in for christmas to visit, chose this local spot. We actually had an issue with my dads swordfish he ordered and Rodney came out, recognized the issue, remade the dish ( which my dad loved ) then covered his meal. So I'm at 4.5 stars now overall with rodneys. ✓This was my first review from prior experiences so I wanted to keep this attached.. Overpriced decent food.... Specials way overpriced and when giving you the specials price not included... I'm fine with a 200$+ dinner with my wife n I but this spot... No, drive to Malones... But then yes come on back because Rodney will come out and have a shot or a drink with you... Half the time meals 10/10 and others maybe 7/10... ✓Next trip on 5/15/18 lamb was insane!!!! Muscles not clean at all but decent size... Calamari was not too bad and the steak burger!!! Again the steak burger is well over a 9/10 ✓6/06/18-came late night about an hour before closing... Service great, they were out of the chicken livers but the special for the night, fried oysters were great! Then the rest off the meal and custom cocktails ;again not too shabby!! Chicken curry always solid then I had the cowboy special-med rare and was top notch... Good job Rodney and crew ✓6/14/18... Bread cold and slow service to start, the good ol chicken liver appetizer was WAY over cooked, roasted pork shoulder again was done great and I'd say the best item on the menu, I tried the "special" which was the salmon appetizer, looked great at presentation but way to much filling and too little salmon, I ordered the steak burger medium rare, cooked medium well, no bacon, then added a side which I was charged for that I deliberately said I didn't want after they said it...

We were really looking forward to our dinner here as we have been meaning to go to Rodney's on Broadway during our last three trips to Lexington in the past two months. We had previously gone online to their very well designed website, viewed the history plus the menu and decided that it was a "must do" restaurant.
We made our reservation through our Open Table account, got to the restaurant right on time and we were seated immediately marveling at the decor as we were taken to our table.
Before I describe the food experience I must emphasize how wonderful the wait staff service was from the moment we walked in until the time we left. Our primary server was outstanding and her support from the others on the floor was excellent as well. Absolutely no complaints there, if the food was half as good as the service the evening would been a much better dining experience and more than the three star rating I am giving the restaurant.
I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, my wife ordered the "Seahorses", (prosciutto wrapped scallops). The Crab Cake was a bit of a departure from what I expected in that it seemed to be formed and baked rather than what you usually get as a pan fried cake. It was slightly overcooked to the point that the delicate crab flavor was going toward a fishy flavor. I should have requested more of the Key Lime Mustard Sauce that comes with. As for the Seahorses, those were okay but like the Crab Cake could have been cooked a bit less as the scallops were rubbery in texture.
I ordered the Lamb Chops thinking that as they had been featured in Southern Living Magazine (twice) they certainly must be special. Those were okay as well. The lamb lacked flavor which happens at times, some restaurants have gone with Colorado rather than Australian lamb for that reason. The lamb was partially saved by the garlic mint demi-glace but that too was finished a bit too much as were the roasted Vegetables du Jour, (Brussels sprouts).
The Scallop topped Halibut special that my wife ordered was very overcooked. Halibut should separate easily, have a buttery consistency and not flake like canned tuna. The dish came on a bed of Grits so there was that for her to eat, most of the Halibut was left on the plate.
The Flourless Chocolate cake desert was not very flavorful, exceptionally firm and dry. The Crème brûlée was the one item we ordered that could have been baked longer.
Maybe it was an "off night" but it was Saturday so they should have been tuned...
Read more"How is this jewel located in Georgetown, KY?" I found myself asking this question over and over. Yet, one of the finest restaurants in this area of the country is located in an unassuming, beautiful, old house in downtown Georgetown.
Through a series of events, found Rodney's on Broadway. Once we found the house which hosts the restaurant, we wondered if we made a mistake, but then we entered. The old house is a beautifully decorated restaurant, with some fun artwork. (Which is for sale, and we even bought a piece before leaving. It turns out the artist was Chef Rodney's wife.) The tables are well spaced so you can have a private conversation, which feels intimate, although you can still engage the people at the next table if you wish. I'm usually not that guy, but I had to ask the neighboring table what was their decadent, mouth-watering dessert (it was a raspberry cake with a cream cheese-based icing). In short, the ambiance and setting are ideal.
The staff at Rodney's is attentive, friendly, and engaging, but not intrusive. In short, they are at the table whenever you want them, but nowhere to be seen otherwise.
As for the food, the first thing you will notice is the presentation. The plating is great, but it's the taste and flavoring I care about . I ordered the lobster bisque with a small filet and the mashed potatoes. Two words - home run! The bisque was the best I have ever tasted, and the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Side note - Rodney also sells his steak seasoning. The mashed potatoes included marbleized russet and sweet potatoes, and pairing these mashed potatoes with the steak was one of the best things my mouth has ever experienced; especially with the perfectly aged Chateauneuf. Speaking of which, they have a great collection of craft cocktails and a nice wine list.
In short, I want to tell all of my friends about this restaurant, but at the same time, I want to keep this secret to myself. Go now, before my...
