We booked a reservation about an hr in advance on open table, got there, seated immediately. 10 minutes to get greeted (we knew what we wanted, the server ran off too fast to tell him), 20 min in our drinks arrive by someone else, 30 min in we get water from an RA, 45 min bread comes by another RA, 50 min the waiter comes back and we order our 70$ 24oz dry aged steak to split (since I never have a big appetite), and 7-8$ for what seemed to be 1lb of mashed potatoes. After 2 drinks it was 101$. Right after our server finally took the order another server comes over and says that he's helping serve us, we're like ok, don't need anything now, never saw him again. At 1 hr and 15 min our food arrives, a little more well done than the medium that we ordered, charred well by the bone. Mashed potatoes might as well have been made from potato flakes given the texture. The flavor of the steak was not bad per se, definitely not good, just weird. I've cooked better as a broke college kid with a cheap cut of meat on a skillet. Much, much better with a decent cut on a cast iron or a green egg. It's ridiculous with a 70$ steak they ask you to pay for any kind of steak sauce or flavored butter to hopefully improve the taste. The manager came over and tried to save face and asked us how service was, we were honest and said it was slow, we tried to be understanding of the parties going on. But to be honest you don't take reservations when you don't have the capacity to serve the customers. We were visited 3 times by the server in 1.5hrs. Manager offered free dessert but we'd already handed off our card to the server as quickly as we could while he was passing, we don't eat sweets, and now had an event to rush to. Also sat less than arms length away from 2 older women who had already cashed out when we arrived and were squawking obnoxious rude things for the 1st hr we were there. To make things worse it was our 1st wedding anniversary. I have incredulously bad luck with restaurants, when I do write reviews about the follies usually restaurants respond trying to get you to give them a 2nd chance or offer a free meal but I wouldn't dare return to any I feel bad enough to write a 1 star review just to be annoyed and unsatisfied a 2nd time with 120$ meal after tip. Tried to taste it again at home but 90% of the 70$ steak made it to the trash. Really disappointed, do people really not know what good steak is? It's like a bad insult to the cow...
Read moreIt wasn’t so much of the food or ambience. There’s only one dish that is impeccable and that’s the salmon. Everything else is pretty much OK.
My issue was I parked my vehicle in a public parking area that’s used for valet at 7 PM. I seated at 6:30pm before 7 PM and when I attempted to leave, I was blocked in by a vehicle and informed I had to pay $10 to leave by their valet.
Then I was told I parked in another vendors space and they have a agreements (in a public parking area ) with this other vendor To operate valet services. I was then informed I would get towed by the vendor, even though that vendor was closed at my time of departure.
The kid wanted me to pay him $10 in order for me to leave however, you render no services so you block me in.
After talking with the manager, the manager attempted to smooth things out. However, told them to move the truck blocking me in and then further express to me in plain English because I disagreed with his viewpoint “ I’M NOT TRYING TO BE A DICK”, while inside the restaurant.
I was shocked by this because I maintain my composure and did not use any profanity or negative body language throughout the entire ordeal, but this was the professional approach this high-end restaurant manager decided to take.
The manager advised the gentleman to move the vehicle that was blocking me in. However, they took every bit of an additional 15 minutes to do so. I waited patiently until one of the kids started to take pictures of my license plate. I asked a kid why was he doing such and he said he was his first amendment, right? I asked the manager was this something he authorized.
The managers response “I have no idea what’s going on”, so I called the authorities. The kids stated it was his first amendment right to take pictures of my vehicle, which by the way has nothing to do with the first amendment.
The police came and informed the manager and the valet services (In which the manager said is a third-party vendor that he has nothing to do with at this time) It is illegal to block people in (Kidnapping), Nor can you take photos of people license plate. Which kids states it’s policy (What happened to your first amendment right)…. Bottom line none of this should’ve never happened.
I visited this restaurant on several occasions and spent over $1000 there in total. Despicable to try to extort somebody over...
Read moreI will start by saying that this restaurant is impeccable with service. The atmosphere & staff were by far top tier. I loved how our waitress went into full detail about their specials & some common choices on the menu.
Parking was very easily accessible & they did offer valet as well which was great.
Unfortunately, the food was horrible for us. The sides are pretty large and easily can be shared between 3-4 people. They also had an amazing selection for wine. You can purchase a select few by glass, but the bottles are much better.
For dinner we had: • 24 oz 36-day Bone-In Ribeye @ medium and they served it well done. Extremely overcooked & not flavorful. Houston’s Steakhouse is MUCH better! • 12 oz filet mignon - Very dry & not flavorful, but the perfect proportion. • Yellowfin Tuna - honestly, this was decent. I’ve had better but it was tender & cooked perfectly. I wasn’t a fan of the thick sesame coating though. Maybe half would have been great. • Scottish Salmon - it took everything in us not to send that sh$t back to the waters it was caught it. We could literally SMELL the fishiness. I eat salmon on a regular & have never smelled it like this. I applaud them for having different varieties on the menu, but this was horrid. Seasoning non existent & it was clear that the salmon was burned vs. seared.
For sides we had: • Sautéed spinach - It was great. Seasoned well & paired well with our foods. • Crispy Brussel Sprouts with Ginger Soy - I absolutely loved them but wished I could have tasted more of the ginger soy. They were a little tough to chew, but that can be common for Brussels sprouts so no complaints. • Grilled asparagus - no complaints. Well cooked & seasoned. • Jalapeño corn brûlée with bacon - we were told that this was a common selection and we understand why. I did not care for the caramelized top as much, but overall it was probably everyone’s favorite at the table! • Loaded baked potato - honestly you can’t go wrong with it.
Dessert • Classic warm Creme Brûlée - AMAZING! I give it 5 stars.
We are a foodie kind of family so we love to try different restaurants & items on the menu but this is probably a restaurant we won’t return to. If, I do return, it’ll be for drinks only! And sadly, I was so excited to try this restaurant after randomly seeing it during my coffee run & Cafe...
