I recently ordered food from Tin Drum Asian Kitchen through DoorDash, hoping for a delightful meal, but was met with profound disappointment. The most striking issue was the stark contrast between the food's presentation in the photographs and its actual appearance upon arrival. It's one thing for dishes to slightly differ from their advertised images, but what I received was a far cry from expectations.
The lettuce wrap, which was supposed to be a savory blend of meat and vegetables, turned out to be a disproportionate mix dominated by onions. The chicken, which should have been the star of the dish, was barely present, making the wrap feel unbalanced and lacking in substance. Furthermore, the sauce that accompanied the lettuce wrap was overwhelming in both quantity and taste. Its saltiness overpowered the other flavors, leaving a rather unpleasant aftertaste.
Moving on to the rice, it was immediately evident that it wasn't fresh. The texture and flavor strongly resembled that of microwave rice, lacking the fluffiness and aroma of freshly cooked rice. This aspect of the meal significantly detracted from the overall dining experience.
To add to the disappointment, this meal didn't just fall short in terms of taste and presentation, it also had adverse effects on health. One of my coworkers who shared the meal experienced stomach discomfort afterwards, which we suspect was due to the quality of the food.
In summary, this experience with Tin Drum was far from satisfactory. The food quality, taste, and presentation were all subpar, and the discrepancy between the advertised photos and the actual meal was significant. I would hesitate to order from this establishment again and hope they take steps to improve their food quality and accuracy of their...
Read moreWhen I first walked into Tindrum, I was genuinely excited to enjoy a steaming bowl of ramen that would warm my soul and satisfy my cravings. The atmosphere seemed inviting enough, with its modern decor and promise of Asian street food flavors. I had been looking forward to this meal all day, expecting rich broth, tender noodles, and layers of seasoning that would remind me why ramen has become such a beloved comfort food.
Unfortunately, what I received was the complete opposite of what ramen should be. Tindrum completely ruined my ramen experience by serving a bowl that was utterly devoid of flavor. The broth tasted like warm water with a hint of salt, lacking any depth or umami that typically comes from hours of simmering bones, miso, or soy. The noodles, instead of being springy and fresh, felt limp and bland, and the toppings added nothing to the dish — no marinated egg, no savory chashu, no fresh scallions to brighten the taste. It was a bowl of disappointment masquerading as ramen.
What made it worse was that ramen is meant to be a sensory experience, an inviting hug in a bowl. Tindrum turned that promise into a letdown that left me frustrated and unsatisfied. A dish that should have been rich, hearty, and comforting felt empty and carelessly prepared. I left with a bad taste in my mouth — ironically, not because of any bold or offensive flavors, but because there was no flavor at all. Tindrum’s bland ramen is a reminder that even the simplest dishes deserve attention and respect, or they risk becoming an insult to the cuisine they claim...
Read moreI have been coming to this location for a very long time. The most recent visit was last night around 8pm. I have had a lot of issues with this location, but the employees have always (typically) done a great job at correcting those issues. The first incident I had occurred a couple of years ago when I had the Sesame dish. On that particular night, they weren't all that busy and I noticed many of the employees on their phone. After eating here, I began throwing up all the next morning. I left a review on the official website, and a manager (Kevin) reached out to me and offered myself and my friend who joined me a free meal. I thought it was very considerate, and I happily went back. I came here without incident until last year, when I found a piece of TILE or something that looked like tile in my Pad Woon Sen. The dish has cabbage in it, so when I bit down on something small and hard, I assumed it was uncooked cabbage. But when I searched through my dish, there was a large triangular piece of something that looked like ceiling tile. I told one of the employees, and left. I decided not to come back after that, and hadn't until recently. I see a lot of new staff in there, so hopefully that corrects the issue. This is not the only Tin Drum near the...
