I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately the experience was terrible. We were there on Mother’s Day which I understand is a busy day, however, the restaurant was not busy when we were there. There was no wait and plenty of empty tables inside. I will say the food that we got did taste good, but so many things went wrong that we will not be back. We were there for brunch and they were out of so many items. No olives, no mimosas, no biscuits. Half of our tables food came out 20 minutes before the other half. I ordered the chicken biscuit with gravy on the side. The server told me they were out of biscuits after we ordered so i got toast instead. They brought the meal with gravy on the sandwich and eggs were supposed to be sunny side (the way it comes) but were scrambled. I asked for sunny side and then was told they were out of eggs LOL. At this point I just told them I didn’t want it anymore because everyone was already done eating. The bathroom is not accommodating for a baby. The bathroom is so small and the changing table is not inside of a stall. It is right behind the door that swings inward so you would get hit if standing there changing your baby. Its also located right next to the sink under the paper towels so the whole left side of the table is soaking wet from peoples hands dripping. The restaurant had so many flies which I get to an extent bc it’s indoor/outdoor, but they should have fans at the entrance bc if you are in the back the flies are basically trapped back there. It took 30 minutes for us to even get our check and it took our server (who did say it was his first day) and another server to come back to our table several times because they were struggling to split the check between three people. Turns out there were SEVERAL items on our bill that we did not order so I had to sit with the second server to check off everything on the ticket that was ours. We were barely compensated by the manager after all of this. I think maybe $3 taken off of 3 bills lol and she said next time we come back to ask for her and we will get free appetizers. We...
Read moreMy wife and I bicycle over to Butcher and brew for lunch the other day. They have dedicated. Bicycle parking right on the side. There is plenty of seating inside as well as outdoors weather permitting. We arrive for a late lunch so they were not very crowded. They provide popcorn while you’re waiting which was salted in flavored nicely. My wife ordered the Nopsi, $16.95, which is shrimp that you can get grilled or fried as well as avocado tomato coleslaw remoulade on a Cuban bread roll. It was plenty of shrimp. My wife got it fried and she said it could use a little more salt. It comes with one side and she got the homemade sour cream and onion chips which she liked but thought were slightly overcooked. I ordered the.Game Over, $16.75, which was house, smoked pork, Swiss cheese, banana peppers, caramelized, onion, avocado, and jalapeño aïoli on sourdough bread. It was excellent. Regarding the jalapeño aïoli for those worried about too much spice, it was very flavorful, and I didn’t notice any hotness at all, of course that will be disappointing to those that want the spice. I got french fries as my side, which were also nicely salted and plentiful. I fell in love with Hefeweizen beer in Germany years ago and saw that they had Konig Ludwig Weissbier, $6.50, which was really good. Not quite as flavorful as the beer as you get in Germany, directly from the brewery that come without preservatives because all the beers in the US seem to have...
Read moreUpdate: 10/19/2024 Since introducing a new menu some months ago, I see that they have brought back some asked for items, The Gustavo, Aioli Fries and a few others. We like the new heaters on the patio.
BEFORE: Living in the neighborhood we come here regularly. Great Brew Pub with some great food and good selection of craft brew. Most brews used to be mostly IPAs; however, choices for more flavorful lagers and amber beers have been improving. Still great atmosphere. Free popcorn with drinks. The Gustavo, a fried chicken sandwich) has been a consistently good sandwich. I like it regular as well as buffalo style. They have a monthly burger special. Today 10/14, The Louie could have used a bit more garlic aioli with the 2 types of mushrooms and crispy fried mushrooms it could also have used an extra slice of swiss. Service is nice and friendly. Living in Halcyon now for 3 years, we used to like the pigs in a blanket appetizer; however, they have trouble with consistency on that dish. The puff pastry has been undercooked the last 2 times so we didn't order it today. They have some really good loaded homemade chips. Fries are really good as well and they have a truffle option. If they are busy sometimes fries have seemed undercooked but they were quick to make it right. Consistently good...
