Birthday dinner for 4 As we approached the restaurant, we noticed a huge parking lot—which, believe it or not, was free. We quickly found a spot and made the short walk to the restaurant. We entered and Wifey confirmed our reservation for four and, of course, we requested outdoor seating. The host led us to a comfortable table on the great open air patio where our server immediately brought waters, complimentary chips, and a variety of salsas. We decided to add a bowl of queso, and the chips kept coming—our server made sure the basket was never empty. We all reviewed the massive food and drink menu—it was the size of an old encyclopedia volume. My daughters both went for the Dragon Fruit Zero mocktail, Wifey ordered the Strawberry Limeade mocktail, and I opted for a Scofflaw Basement IPA. While we snacked on chips, salsa, and queso, the mocktails arrived first, in some tall great-looking glasses. They sparked a debate: were these souvenir glasses included or was there an extra charge? When it came to entrées, my youngest kept it classic with two barbacoa tacos. My wife ordered the Street Skillet but asked for shrimp only instead of the usual mix of chicken, beef, and shrimp. My oldest chose the salmon with cilantro rice, spinach, and roasted cauliflower, while I went with the grilled chicken chimichanga served with black beans and rice. The only hiccup was the timing—ideally, the dishes would have arrived together, but they came out in stages. My youngest's tacos came out first, while my oldest’s salmon took a little longer (a couple of reminders to our server were needed) and arrived last. Still, everything was hot, fresh, and flavorful. Everyone but my youngest had enough left over to bring home. The mocktails were such a hit that at least two other guests stopped by to ask what my daughters had ordered. Since we were celebrating my birthday, the staff came by to sing “Happy Birthday.” While there wasn’t a complimentary dessert, we ordered a Tres Leches cake to share, which turned out to be the perfect way to wrap up the meal. All in all, our first visit left a great impression. The food, drinks, and service were spot-on, and our server was extremely attentive. We’d definitely come back the next time we’re on this side of town. Also, the ladies ended up walking out with their glasses, so I guess they were included. 4.5...
Read moreHad a horrible experience at this restaurant. I am a server myself and we’ve had some rough days but I’ve never experienced anything like I did tonight. The minute we walk up to the restaurant there is a huge line, we come to find that they do not have a waitlist instead the GM of the restaurant comes outside and yells what tables they have available and how many they can sit, and take a wild guess as to who has been waiting the longest. Regardless of that we got a table very quick and understood that the restaurant was very busy, but then our server came to the table and greeted us. She gave us no name, no introduction, nothing. She went straight to asking us what we wanted to drink very abruptly, when we had a little less than 30 seconds to look at the menu. I proceeded to order a drink and she thought my Id was fake and got the manager which I respect, however after the manager confirmed my ID was real she proceeded to be super passive aggressive towards me and my friends. She put the drink on the table very aggressively, didn’t really give us time to look at the menu, instead she asked us what we wanted and stood at the head of the table for 5 minutes until we decided, after that she barely came to check on us. Honestly the food was really good and the manager was nice, but in terms of service, I felt like I was dining at a Waffle House. Usually I tip somewhere from 30-50 percent but I was so shocked by how rude she was to us. We were ignored, talked to in a disrespectful way, and she was not attentive or engaging at all. She gave no recommendations, brought our appetizer to the table before even getting us waters which we had asked for 3 times at this point. I was very excited to go to Halcyon for the first time, and this really ruined...
Read moreTo Management , CT Cantina , Halcion Yesterday I had the worst treatment a restaurant can provide to a customer . We came as a couple to have some good fun , music, dance and margaritas that was advertised all over Halcion for Sunday 7 pm to midnight . We showed up by 9:45 to have couple of hours fun and we came in hungry . We had to wait for 10 mins and then someone comes up and says we are closing 10 so no food and just perhaps we can sit ar bar . We showed the flyer and the sign just outside their door saying event was till midnight and we had planned our evening based on that .
To my dismay their response was , oh ! Sorry that was typo ! There is nothing we could do about it. Disappointed but still asked if we could at least have some food as me and my wife were very hungry and we can Mr. 15 miles just for this … again a cold and rude … Sorry kitchen is closed !!!
Is this the pride CT Cantina takes in serving their customer , coming in hungry , after having falsely advertised and on top refusing food at 10:01 saying closed but we can see food being placed in tables as we speak !!! Despicable!
I even recommend this to another friend who also came in away from 20 miles to join us and I looked embarrassed that they came all the way for nothing !
The very least , at least you could have gone out of the way ,apologized sincerely and make some amends to atleast have the compassion to provide dinner , especially for something you advertised people to come in for . How would anyone trust your future events and I don’t even feel like ever mentioning your name for anyone ! I could have had a great time at Hobnob and other taverns over there who excel in customer service
