It's going to be a long time, if ever, that we go back to any Cracker Barrel. I had been craving their sugar cured ham and so we went for dinner, only to find out that the ham plate, both sugar cured and country ham, has been discontinued with all the tinkering corporate has done to the menu. What we should have done was pay for our drinks and walked out. The chicken tenders I settled for instead I not only didn't want, but they weren't that great. My wife got the Wednesday special of broccoli cheddar chicken and she said the size of the chicken breast had been reduced greatly from what it used to be. Also the broccoli was dried out. You have to let broccoli sit a long time for it to be dried out. When we lived in Orlando we would go just about every Wednesday before or after church and she would get it. So it's not like this was the first time she'd ever had it.
Then our waitress appeared to be new and we waited a long time to get our drinks and then to even order. Then we waited a longer time for the corn muffins and biscuits and the corn muffins weren't even that good. Finally we got our food and the arrangement of our plates was all screwed up. For some reason the kitchen had put two of my three sides on my wife's plate.
And then the steak fries weren't even good anymore. How do you screw up fries? I'll tell you how. Now there's some sort of breading on them that is just nasty. I ate a few to fill myself up because I was really hungry (hence getting three sides) but that was it.
It was not a good experience at all. As I said, It will be a long time, if ever, that we go back to any Cracker Barrel. Quit screwing with stuff. Also to the customer relations person who's going to read this and put a link to customer relations on how to improve, how about you put a link that you can actually copy and paste into a browser? You guys can't even get that right where I tried to copy it from other...
Read moreWe dine at Cracker Barrel’s all over. One main reason is the consistency in quality and freshness of the food. We’ve now given this location 3 separate tries. All were sub par but today’s took the cake. Service was great.
Read moreKinda disappointed, they seem to have gotten more skimpy with the portions and like everything else the prices for what you get is too much, I mean $5.00 for a 12 oz. beer? Not even good beer at that. The place is nostalgic and they do have some neat stuff, but it's not the Cracker Barrel I remember. I tried to reply on the website, but I couldn't find you. We used to go to your store fairly regularly, however we started to notice that the portions started to be smaller such as less gravy on the biscuits and country fried steak. It seemed like you couldn't keep good kitchen staff that could cook. We ordered the steak on three separate occasions and not one time did it come out like we ordered it. So we decided to not order steak since after all you're not a steak house, although that's not really a good reason to not be able to cook steak to order. You might ask why we didn't send it back, seriously, if I have learned one thing about restaurants it's that you never send food back to be redone, it's best to just choke it down or leave. We were there the other day because we had a gift card. This would make it the first time in maybe eight or nine years since we were there last, and like I said, it's not the same place or quality of food. Our server was great though. We may go to Cracker Barrel again, but it won't be yours, in baseball three strikes...
