I recently moved to the Commerce area and have ordered from Taqueria Mi Jalisco about three or four times and each time has been amazing. The food is so fresh and tasty and the portion sizes are nice. I have tried their Beef Broth (Caldo de Res) and it is my absolute favorite item on the menu! The broth is so clear and flavorful and I love all the chunks of meat they pack in. I have also ordered their Steak, Chicken, and Spicy Pork Tacos. I find the Steak and Spicy Pork to be the most flavorful. The chicken is not bad, but it's chargrilled chicken so I find it to not be quite as juicy as I would like. Still a solid choice however. Today, my appreciation for this place grew even more because I had placed an order on UberEats and had just an overall terrible experience (food never got delivered and I waited over an hour for my order, but this was an UberEats issue, nothing to do with the restaurant). Still I called the restaurant and asked about what had happened to my order and they told me it was just that the UberEats driver never showed up. I asked them if I could still pick up the order myself and they told me that I could. They informed me that my order was probably cold by that point and promised to reheat it for me but I told them it was fine, I could take care of reheating it myself at home. Despite that, they truly went above and beyond and remade my order for me so that it was nice and warm when I arrived to pick it up. This place will continue to get my business as it truly is a place with great food when I am craving Mexican cuisine and the people that work there are so kind. Highly recommend this place for lovers of authentic and flavor street tacos and their...
Read moreWe recently placed a phone order for several tortas and burritos, but upon receipt, the burritos were not what was ordered. Specifically, we did not request a wet burrito for any of the burritos. Although some of us were willing to settle with a wet burrito, I am definitely not happy with having spent $69.00 for half of the order to be not what we had wanted.
The steak burrito we ordered was replaced with a hastily assembled version consisting of just chopped steak wrapped in a tortilla with melted cheese and excessive red salsa over it. To give the dish a little accent, slices of onions were garnished. :/ Just great...
Regrettably, the salsa was overpoweringly salty, and the steak was remarkably dry. I had completely lost my appetite just trying it.
Given the cost for our order, I expect a higher standard of quality and attention to detail. Receiving half of our order incorrect and the inability to properly at least make a wet burrito has left me disappointed and frustrated for what our time and money was worth.
Order accuracy and quality control improvements are necessary. It's a bummer to seem to have great reviews for the restaurant but to have experienced...
Read moreA nice, clean mexican resturant. It's in a little shopping strip behind Starbucks. They have beer, but no mixed drinks as yet. It was kind of warm inside. They have air conditioning, but it was bordering on uncomfortable for me. Of course, it's been in the upper 90s here, so possibly a factor. The menu is printed in english, but a couple of items were unfamiliar to me. The very courteous staff could have explained, but I wasn't wearing my hearing aid. I think the food was very authentic and good, but I would have liked some side dishes. I didn't see any on the menu. I should have asked, but no hearing aid. They had regular diner tables, and a few booths, but no bar. You grab beer or sodas out of the cooler, order at the counter, and they bring your food out to your seat. If they had a bar I'd probably be a regular customer, because they have the best mexican food in...
